  1. uhhhh, what? You can't expect the Cubs to field a team that's made up entirely out of star players. If Fuku plays average next year, he'll be more than adequate for us in CF. Not every player needs to be super awesome. If Fuku plays average, he's still better than some of the crap we've put out there in recent years. There is no way any player on the current roster reproduces the numbers put up in CF last year.
  2. I know he got a cortisone shot late in the last season, but they knew he had the tear and still exercised his option? That's odd
  3. You can't be serious. He didn't get the tear after he stopped pitching while jerking his chicken. I mean before they let him pitch next season. Of course he got the injury last year.
  4. At least they found out about it before they let him pitch, so they can treat it before it gets worse. Still SUCKS though. Harden is my favorite baseball player.
  5. Kerry "**** face" Wood
  6. I know if the Cubs won the WS for the first time in a hundred years, it wouldn't mean a thing if a handful of our players went to play for the Cardinals. And it's not like So is a good player. It'd be like the Cubs winning the WS and then trading Ronny Cedeno to the Phillies, followed by the Phillies trading him to the Cards. I couldn't care less, I'd still be drunk from the WS.
  7. "He played for the Phillies last year, so it's not the same as going directly from the Cubs to St. Louis" FTH?
  8. as opposed to some random patient who doesn't need vision? Zambrano would crush him like a bug
  9. Weird. At the first page of the article he obviously has some sort of manlove for Bloomquist, but on the second one he suddenly starts to make some good points.
  10. I really hope the best for Prior. God knows he deserves to be healthy.
  11. not for all the hair gel in the world. Why was he banned?
  12. 8 mil per year? Isn't that like 25% of their entire 2008 payroll?
  13. owkay, I take that back.
  14. The Dolphins offense seems to be brought back to life. Too bad it's too late
  15. He certainly hasn't figured out how to take a friggin' walk yet But he can hit a single 30% of the time he steps to the plate . . . Touché Haha! Victory is mine! (If I knew how to post pictures, I'd post an image of Stewie. But I can't, so pretend there's one here) In the post window, click the "Img" button and enter the image link between (img) and (/img), just like you would do with a URL. http://www.thirdwayblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/stewie.jpg
  16. The reason he went nuts on the ump was, supposedly (his coach confirmed it, IIRC), the ump made some racist comments. That doesn't necessarily justify anything, but it's a whole lot more understandable than him just thinking it was a bad call. I believe he tore his ACL as his coach was restraining him. Just a freak injury. Freak injury? He'll fit right in with the Cubs then :D
  17. Isn't Dunn better than Ibanez? And a few centuries younger?
  18. THE GRIT! WE LOST THE GRIT!
  19. Do you work at Wrigley or something? No, he's stalking Bradley.
  20. One of these days he's gonna go on us.
  21. According to MLBTR, Levine said that the Cubs are close to a deal for DeRosa to be traded to the Indians for two or three young pitchers. I guess those can then be used in a Peavy deal or to reinforce our bullpen?
  22. He can play middle infield AND he can pitch
