  1. Remember last inning when that was a ball.
  2. Hopefully he tries for a real unconventional method of "allowing the Cubs to score three runs" REED JOHNSON!!!!!!!
  3. I think there is blood coming out of my ears.
  4. Damn if he made contact then it would have been at Marshall.
  5. Why is this happening? I guess we are watching the Little League World Series.
  6. I want to get a job where I can just make [expletive] up with no repercussions. I want to apply to be a Joe Morgan. Yeah, Fox catching Marmol will be funny.
  7. I think that bolded name explains your answer.
  8. That's the payback for the first game's play where LaRue missed the plate.
  9. Does he have 3 first pitch hits? They could try another pitch on him that's not a fast ball.
  10. I've never witnessed Fox catch (actually I might have in a single A game but I don't remember it). I'm excited because of all the hype. Apparently they are broadcasting from a phone now. Wish I could hang up.
  11. Yankees with A-Rod. Yeah, that's the only one I could think of. It happens periodically in baseball, though. Remember when Pujols had that oblique problem? Or Lance Berkman's knee? Or that time Prince Fielder had to go on the DL with a dislocated jaw because he tried to swallow a honey-baked ham whole? Prince is a vegetarian so it was a big salad. Like the one Elaine likes.
  12. Uhhh... I think anything less than 5 games over .500 is a HUGE disappointment for this team. We've had our full team like once or twice this year and Aramis still isn't hitting and Soriano's can't be 100% with his knee either. No team is ever really 100%, to be fair. Ok, that's true but every team doesn't have most of their best players hurt in a way that hurts their effectiveness throughout the season. It feels like we have had at least one key player hurt for every game this year.

  14. I know the minute my excitement level for the 2009 Cubs starts to go up a bit, the Cubs are going to immediately lose. Stupid average baseball team.
  15. nothing about being able to touch the bag in there. It's up to the umpire's discretion. Protest
  16. yes i'm sure a righthanded pitcher intentionally put his hand up to block a hard throw from the shortstop to first baseman. Watch the replay, champ. Too be fair a pitcher is going to have trouble doing a fundamental slide, which would involve flailing arms but that did look fishy.
  17. LaRussa thought it should have been a DP too.
  18. I love games where the Cubs hit the ball hard right at people and the other team gets successful bloop hits.
  19. I didn't watch too much of the first game but it seems like every time I've seen guys get on base today it's been for Baker and Hill.
