Then it's Sharks/Hawks in the conference finals, Hawks win 4-2. I know this is completely unrealistic but if it happens I can say "I told everyone so!" haha. I think the Wings are going to win the Cup again, no compelling reason to pick otherwise :) I think your picks are pretty realistic... all of them but the Nucks over the Blues in 4. The way the Blues have been playing, I don't see any feasible way the Blues don't win at least one. Other than that, those are all solid possibilities.

Just got back from the game let me give you guys some views and questions from the bleachers: This was the most miserable opening day out of the last six years I have gone. Nonstop rain, hour delay... way too cold. I thought I overdressed and I was still miserable. Those of you who got to watch the game in the warmth of your office/home were lucky. The player intros were lame, the first pitch was lame, the National Anthem and Moment of Silences for Adenhart/Kalas were pretty cool. Lilly's no-no was basically unknown to the majority of the people in the stands, I didn't realize nor did anyone around me realize he even had a no-no going until after he pitched in the 5th. Of course we all looked around and kind of gave eachother the nod but didn't say anything at this point. I also texted UMFan "12 more" so he'll probably blame me for Lilly blowing it. There were a bunch of fights in the stands (3 fist fights and at least 1 shoving match) throughout the game. One was particularly good... a fatass got his face beat in by a skinny little guy... he ended up leaving bloody. The other fights were lame, however, it was nice seeing the little [expletive] without a shirt that had a Napoleon complex get beat down as well. What about that play where Fontenot hit that ball on the ground into short right field and was "thrown out" at 1st? My eyes saw him ON THE BAG by the time the ball even bounced... was he safe or out? And how about the rundown with Fukudome, was he safe or out? Oh and Roast, I think I saw you... were you out in right field bleachers... more towards right-center?

ONLY ONE NIGHT AFTER TONIGHT UNTIL PLAYOFF HOCKEY!!!! Wednesday night will consist of me leaving work early, calling pizza hut on my way home... ordering pizzas and wings... picking up a 24 pack and having a wonderful night!

Both were out. I'm pretty sure Roast was here posting and not working this game. Ahh ok... yea I've only seen the TV shots of Roast that other's have pointed out never really seen him in person. It was a rowdy crowd... he's lucky he wasn't there. Lot's of "tough guy" assholes to the ushers when asked to sit down. I never knew so many people out there to have a good time could be such jerks.

Lucky for this thread, I will likely miss the first two games live. I wouldn't rule out a suspension for me :-D Kidding of course! All of the complaining/excitement/pissedoffness will be multiplied by 5 at least.

Supposed to be crappy weather tomorrow as well... It would be my luck that I go into work and the game is played. I can get the day off tomorrow if I need, I just hate using my vacation days when I want to go on an extended vacation to Helsinki in October for the Blackhawks home opener.

Shoulda waited til tomorrow. Can't take the chance haha, took the day off work... better go and hope for the best.

What are you guys gearing up in? I got a T-shirt, thermal shirt, two sweatshirts, my Ramirez jersey and a poncho... of course this won't be enough. And I really don't want to weat my Cubs 1908 World Series leather jacket because of course it will get ruined inevitably. Also, long underwear, wind pants, sweatpants, jeans... and 2 pairs of socks.

A cubs game and Hawks game at the same time shouldn't affect travel all that much. NHL screwed this up. Early in the day nhl.com said they would have playoff schedule up and ready as soon as the 5pm games ended. This did not happen. You have to do a better job with this stuff. It took way too long to figure out when this would start. My big concern is what happens to the non Versus games for a non-Chicago resident? I had the center ice package, and I get the sports pack that includes CSN Chicago. If a game isn't on Versus and is only on comcast chicago locally, will I be able to watch it? It would on the tollways in and out of Chicago, not in the city itself. Anyways, are we likely looking at a night start here? Would the NHL and MLB shoot eachother in the foot by having a major market on National TV at the same time? Any speculations on start times? I might even sell my tickets to this game to watch the Hawks.

Well [expletive] on my day why don't you. I'll wait another half hour or so and hope for a decision before I head down there.
