    He whiffed. The Hawks have looked brutal on both sides... only stand out play was the dive by Campbell to save the hard wrister. Huet has looked solid, though.

    Baseball is absolutely NOT a bad example. In baseball in extra innings you have players in the field to make the outs, and also it is a 1 v 1 for the moment . But unless you hit a HR you can't score by yourself.

    Then the casual fan is stupid. Yes, that's right I said stupid. Shootouts disrupts the continuity of the game. It's an embarrassment to the game of Hockey, and to it's tradition. And no I know I won't "get over it" because it's stupid. Might as well say...hey baseball, when the 9th inning is over, were going to have homerun derby. If hockey wants to increasing scoring, how about making the rinks international size, which is bigger then the NHL size, or instead of it being 5 on 5, make it 4 on 4 on NHL size ice. No need for shootout, period. I won't get over it, until it's gone. I rather see a tie then some carnival parade that is the shootout. Couldn't have said it better. Like I said... why should a 1 v 1 decide the outcome of a team sport? Should be 20 minutes of over time 4 v 4... oh wait that sounds familiar =\ But make sure it doesn't end in a tie.

    Yea I was drunk and angry at the world because of the 3rd period haha just got home now, I'll change it. And actually football kind of is decided by a field goal kicking contest ;) I don't think a game should be decided in a TEAM sport with 1 v 1s.

    Why should they have too? Shootouts are [expletive] and pointless and don't show TEAM SKILL...? Oh Howry, last time I checked HOCKEY is a TEAM sport. I'm not arguing for or against the shootout. I just find it odd that they're what, 0-3 now? Toews, Kane, Sharp, Havlat... you would think it would be a strength. Yep, they are pathetic in a situation they shouldn't have to be in... it's not fair, but hey... life isn't fair. Well, if it makes you feel better, they're sucking me back into hockey. I didn't end up getting the Center Ice TV package, but the free radio play by play on the NHL's website is nice. Well, good that you're finally back into hockey! This loss just sucks on so many levels... getting outplayed in the 3rd really bit us in the ass again. :(

    Uhhh hello, they got lucky and got a cheap win because of stupid howry NHL rules... shootout? Whoever thought of that should be hung... it should be OT til a REAL team scores. Not 1 v 1. 8 power plays to 3...You will not see 10 games all year with that kind of ratio They will never play OT games til someone wins in the regular season and that would still be the DEFENDING STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS over a team that has only made the playoffs once this decade...So take your REAL team back and maybe make the playoffs and let a Detroit worry about defending the Cup nuff said Oooo, high and mighty Red Wings fan. I have nothing to say other than that. Wings obviously have our number both now, historically and probably in the future. Don't forget, they also will have the refs on their side soon... tonight, they didn't dive well enough to get fake PPs (although they got a cheap fake goal in the first on the Khabi slashing call). This loss is on the stupid rules of the NHL.
