    How weird is it seeing red and white instead of all the blue? This is surreal and gives me chills... I wish I would have gone.

    I don't even feel bad about being lame and saying I am getting chills writing this... I spent my New Years in Chicago and stayed at the Mariott near Rush/Michigan and all through the night on every corner people were buzzing about this game. Then this morning it was such a great sight seeing hockey back in Chicago... everyone decked out in their gear... people rolling down windows yelling LETS GO HAWKS or DETROIT SUCKS at all of the Wangs fans with their flags draped around them. Man what a feeling... so great to see!

    That and Orr vs. Boulton have been my favorite fights of the year, thanks for posting! I can't wait til Jan. 6th when Boulton screws Crosby's girly little face up.

    This isn't totally directed at you, it's more of a general rant, but why wouldn't you just google it? I am not a hockey fan at all, but I am excited to watch this game.     Sucks when Ty Roy never gave up a rebound :( Sorry... It's hard for me to admit my golden team finally got dominated... leave me alone! Thats cool I certainly understand. He would probably have given more rebounds if the Hawks had more pressure directly in front of him. It is those types of things that make a huge difference in the playoffs. I dont know how the Hawks can work it in their cap, but picking up a power forward who can do the dirty work in front of the net may be a good trade deadline investment. I really wish we could make that happen but I think we have if we're lucky 5 cents to our name (I may be giving us too much credit, we might actually have overdraft fees). Only way to get ANYTHING at the deadline is to offload Havlat and/or Bulin's contract.

    Looks like I'm gonna be pretty late to this one, lol. My buddy's brother is working Level on Rush and we're getting free entry and drinks soooooo..... I don't think I'll even be awake until noon or later, thank GOD for Tivo! I hope everyone has a safe and prosperous New Year!

    Well kids... it's here. Coming off an embarassing shutout but the Wings (in an incredubly chippy game even though the [expletive] Wings wouldn't drop the gloves), we need to come out strong and score early againsty Patrick Ro.....I mean Ty Conklin.... otherwise we're screwed.

    Wish I could blame anything else but the Hawks... Hawks started off strong and I can't believe they didn't score at least 2 in the 1st. I still think they outplayed the Wings for the first 10 minutes of the 2nd... but not good enough... lucky bounces and a strong last 30 minutes were the demise of the Hawks. Was a great game to watch, as hard as it is to say that.

    Conklin is seriously NOT a good goalie... but why the freaking hell does he have to dominate the Hawks?

    Usually get some leeway after getting hit like that. It takes a lot to get a matching penalty. Eager could have just as easily gotten a matching on Lebda's crosschecking earlier, same kind of shenanigans. I'd tend to agree with you, but Chelios gets away with a hell of a lot of [expletive] because he's older than most of the refs :(

    Wow... not that's just EMBARRASSING... Eager get's the penalty (I agree).... but [expletive] Old [expletive] Chelios gets away with that? Blatant referee negligence... that is so sad.

    He's playing now, putting up his high stick he'll admit too tomorrow after getting a borderline high hit, and then hit again in the 2nd period.

    I like it. The Hawks need to wake up a bit tonight. They've had plenty of opportunities, just bad bounces... karma will come around... I still maintain this game comes down to the last 10 minutes of the 3rd. Hawks have outplayed the Wings by a wide margin.

    Yea, been a great game so far... I'm surprised nothing more came out of Sharp whacking Zetterberg at the end of the period. I still predict this game is 4-3 or 3-2 but I'm not predicting the winner, it will come down to the last 10 minutes. And why the HELL does Conklin turn into Patrick Roy against us? PUT IN OSGOOD, INJURED AND ALL!!!
