Dude, I'm not going to argue with you about whether it's the proper pronunciation because you know a lot more about it than I do, but the fella who posted the other day about this has a point. If they've been saying it that way for years, in both Rockford and Chicago, someone must have told them all that's the way it's said. It may be a matter of him just pronouncing it differently than it spells or is normally pronounced. Like Ryan Smyth. He should pronounce it like Conn Smythe, but he doesn't. Swedish/Finnish/Norwegian are not like English names... every letter has a certain pronunciation. In any Scandinavian language a combination of 2 consonants has a SPECIFIC certain sound... there really is no getting around it. Just find it annoying personally, I know you guys don't care... but neither do I posting about it thanks to Mr. Foley hahaha... just seems like lazy commentary to me not knowing how to pronounce a player on a team you cover 75+ games a year.
