  1. It's pretty simple, just not enough room in the future for Coats.
  2. He'll probably sign with the Angels for 2008.
  3. Towers would be a nice fit, but he will probably end up with the Rockies.
  4. Now Bruce Levine is reporting the Sox will do a Sean Gallagher for Podsednik swap.
  5. Latest rumor on the radio waves is that the Sox want Geovany Soto. Piersynski is only under contract through 2008 and the Sox think Soto would be a perfect fit as a starter in 2009. With Soto having a great year at AAA Iowa, he is almost too much to give up isn't he?
  6. They still have a chance at Stewart according to chicagosports.com
  7. Buster Olney of ESPN is now reporting that the A's and Cubs will probably not be able to agree on a trade.
  8. I think too many people are getting carried away about how the Cubs did not make one single trade today. While agree that they could have at least acquired someone like Jeff Conine or Johnny Gomes, you also look at what the competition did, and the competition did not do much. They gave up three prospects, two top-level guys, for a middle reliever. And with plenty of baseball to play and just one game back any day now the Cubs and Brewers can be tied or the Cubs can take the lead outright. And keep in mind they still can get a player like Conine or Gomes in August through waivers for low level minor-leaguers.
  9. yes! the trade I wanted the Cubs to make all along. To get Eric Gagne! What would it take? Sean Gallagher straight up? It's not like the Rangers are going anywhere and they get a pretty intriguing prospect in Gallagher. Plus, Gagne is a free agent after this year.
  10. It's not that steep of an offer, especially if the Reds pay all of his contract for this season and part of next season. BTW, the contract situation may be the stiffler in these trade talks.
  11. Did anyone just hear that talk about Ken Griffey Jr. and the possible deal to the Cubs? The Cubs have gave the Reds an official offer I guess, something along the lines of Felix Pie, Sean Gallagher, either Matt Murton or Jacque Jones, and another minor-league pitcher. I would definitely like this trade if it went down and I hope it does by 3pm CT. Any Griffey Trade Updates can go here also.
  12. ESPN Radio 1000 is reporting something?
