i haven't looked at the spreadsheet, but the projections still have guys like scott olsen outscoring pujols. did we really bump pitching points up that much?

Neifi, of course! btw - when are you going to start dropping all the players you can't keep? before 2/14. :D my drops are going to improve the draft pool significantly. i'll be dropping at least one top 5 guy. of course, i may get him back with the #3 pick... How did you get the #3 pick? traded for it. you're scared now.

also, it has hill outscoring papelbon even though they have hill going 10-12 with a 4.17 era and a 1.36 whip and papelbon going 15-8 with a 3.29 era and a 1.10 whip. that can't be right...

also, i don't know if they points are screwed up or what...but if they're not, shawn chacon outscores pujols. i hope pitching points weren't bumped up that much...

i'd rather have the contract weaver is going to get than the one the cubs gave marquis. if contract length/$ were equal...i don't know...probably still rather have weaver. -
how is this even a debate? it's the dumbest question i've ever seen posed to an internet Q&A. hands down. and it's not just the (idiotic) content of the question...it's his, "oh boy, here we go again...the dumb-dumb cubs...i can't believe they albert pujols go...they are always doing stupid stuff like that!" attitude. as if he's saying that if only he were in charge, he'd have NEVER let this happen. guy is a huge moron, and he deserves to be mocked.

bowden fleeced both the rangers (for soriano...was he the gm then?) and the reds (for lopez and kearns). his team was operating with a significantly lower payroll than the cubs (and playing in a tougher division), and the nats won more games than the cubs. i'd probably rather have hendry than bowden, but it's not unthinkable that someone would rank him ahead of hendry. i don't know why hendry gets any kind of credit from anyone. since he's taken over the losses have increased each year (despite an increasing payroll) and the farm system has gone in the toilet. so he traded for ramirez and lee...what's that gotten him?

Epstein has been pretty good. Got them a WS ring, and he signed all the available FA's this year that I wanted the Cubs to sign. Hendry is where he deserves. Those bottom tier GMs are pretty bad. I don't know about all that now. Hendry may be bad, but is he worse that Jim Bowden or J.P. Ricciardi? I'd put him somewhere between 15-17 personally. Hendry is bad, very bad. Any monkey can sign players through FA if they have the available funds to do so, and Soriano didn't come cheap either. Whether you think its a fluke or not, I dont know how you judge Hendry without at least mentioning Lee, Barrett and, here's the big one, RAMIREZ. i judge hendry by wins. and in that regard, he's bad. and if you judge him by win per dollar, he's the worst.

And I hope Hendry is right about Izturis. But, I'm very, very skeptical that Izturis will be any better with a bat than the worst SS's in the league. if he stays healthy & plays great defense, does it really matter what he hits? the sox & cards won the WS with guys who had .713 & .694 ops's respectively. Of course it matters. That black hole in the lineup has more of an impact than anything he does on defense, no matter how good his glove is. Those teams may have won with those shortstops, but it wasn't because of them. how many teams have won anything on the offense of their 8th place hitter? so the cubs should intentionally play a crappy hitter just b/c other teams have won with a bad 8th place hitter? that makes no sense. -
