    The 1970s were better At least I was young enough then to think it couldn't continue that badly forever. Now 30 years later, I'm not so sure. Come to think of it, I am .... ... it will.

    My understanding is that things, but not people, can be oriental. For example, rugs from Kashmir can be called oriental. But people from Kashmir are Asian, not oriental.

    This is so bad. And despite not losing any ground this series, the Brewer's bats can compensate for their pitching in Houston. Unfortunately, there's no way our pitching is going to get 4 straight shutouts at Coors, which would be the only chance we have of winning a game there. I'd love to be wrong, but I really think we're going to head back to Chicago 3.5 games behind.

    Just remember, everyone, that even if we lose our 4th in a row, no ground can be lost (in the Central). *runs off and bangs head repeatedly against a wall for allowing such complacency to enter my thoughts* Alas, we're falling behind in the WC race. Three games back at the moment. I think WC is out of the question with our current cast of characters ... right now Atlanta, Philly, and the NL West contenders are just better. Our best shot at the postseason is to win the central. As lousy as we've looked recently, the Brewers have shown that they don't have the pitching to win the division. It is entirely possible that <90 wins can still win the division.

    Any one know why they brought in Myers with the pitcher's spot coming up third in the top of the 10th? I'm not watching the game ... was something wrong with Romero?
