  1. That sucked Aramis. Anyway, its a fresh ball game now, so go get em Demp. Remember, just because you've never heard of most of these guys doesnt mean they can hurt you.
  2. Later Scotty. Sorry, but thats how we roll. If you wont let us play power ball, we bloop you to death. Now would be as good a time as any for Aramis to extend his hit streak to 8 games.
  3. that was #92. Hopefully, he'll be out after the 6th.
  4. Its all Lous strategy. Let him no hit us into the 8th, meanwhile Dempster will shut the Rays down. In the 8th, we'll scratch out a bloop single, thus taking the no no away so late in the game, that Kazmir implodes.
  5. That was a classic Dempster thrill ride. Dont do it again, and lets get some runs, or at least hits.
  6. Sonnenstein and Shields should be beatable.
  7. I dont know if that banging or whatever is coming from the fans or the speakers, but its annoying as hell.
  8. A healthy and productive Jim Edmonds is a huger asset than a healthy and productive Mike Fontenot, Ronny Cedeno, or even Reed Johnson.
  9. I went over to that Rays site, and looked at their game thread, and found this little blurb This kid either A. Knows nothing of Cubs Nation or B. Seems to be confusing us with White Sox fans.
  10. Wed have to give up a hell of a prospect package to get Beltran, a lot more than Murton, Pie, Marshall. Also, as long as ownership is in limbo, you can forget about taking on the contract, and I cant imagine the Mets even considering a deal that didnt entail that.
  11. Edmonds everyday? Why? If he can stay healthy and productive, hes a huge assett, especially without Soriano.
  12. Gonna be awfully crowded up the middle of the infield. As long as nobody tries to hit one down the 3rd base line, we'll be OK.
  13. Thats pretty impressive. However, I could have sworn he had some sort of back problem in the past.
  14. Does anyone know if any of the Rays players will be serving their suspensions from the CoCo Crisp incident during this series? Either way, its almost a guarantee that Crawford will be rested 1 of the 3 games.
  15. Hes hardly been an assett to the Sox this season, but to my knowledge, hes given us trouble in the past(if anyone has stats to prove otherwise, I apologize), so we'll miss him for both series'.
  16. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/1002467,cubsox061208.article Heres the poll. Cubs players are stomping the Sox in every position, of course The Cubs have more fans, so thats part of it, we really do have pretty much every position better with the exception of closer.
  17. So basically, he'll platoon in left with Johnson, while Edmonds gets the majority of time in center. We could do worse. vs. RHP Theriot Fuku Lee Ramirez Soto Edmonds DeRosa Murton P/DH vs. LHP Johnson Theriot Ramirez Lee Fuku Soto(personally, Id switch Soto and Fuku) Edmonds DeRosa P/DH
  18. They were talking about this on the North show this morning. The said Quentin would get right, but only because Sorianos injured. Id agree there. Reed Johnson got center. Id go with Edmonds. The were at a toss up between Dye and Fukudome for RF. Apparetnly, they were only thinking in terms of offense. They gave AJ Catcher only for the experience, but said in years to come Soto would be superior. Then, they never finished because North went off on a rant about some beat writer who pissed him off and they never got on track, or at least not before I got to work. Too bad. I was curious who they would have chosen for 3rd.
  19. no doubt...he is not very good at all...as long as the lineup is patient...he SHOULD be rocked Predictions: Game 1: we jump all over Kazmir early for 7 runs through 3. Dempster gives up 2 in 6th and 7th. Game 2: Zambrano gives up an early 3 run lead and nothing else, but we cant touch Sonnenstine Game 3: Gallagher owns the Rays, we beat up on Shields.
  20. When the time comes, we could probably get Milton Bradley for a similar price as Randy Winn.
  21. Hopefully we can take 2 from these guys while the Cards feast on the Royals, and then we can jump all over the White Sox and Orioles while they have to deal with The Red Sox and Tigers.
  22. The Yankees might consider going for him, or any other pitcher with a pulse.
