    I think the problems began on that Sunday Night Baseball game. Since then, he's been unable to shed the reputation as a guy who isn't always focused. He's likely getting a reputation of the little brown guy who doesn't give it his all while Tony Campana wastes away in Iowa, despite the complete difference in positions. I can't wait until 2016 when Castro's accused of "blocking" Steven Bruno, who's hitting .320 with a .650 OPS in Iowa.

    Not sure if I love the idea of sticking our top prospect in a place where every other game seems to be rained out, especially when he's struggeled there early on.

    Very cool pitching day. Yao Lin Wang continues to intrigue me. He's been very good in each of the levels he's been, yet he gets little to no notice. Does anyone have any info on him? Very excited about the AZL duo.

    Is it possible to respect Tim's analysis as well as the analysis of those on the other side? Tim brings up very good points, so it's not just one of the usual doom and gloomers. I don't necessarily agree with the conclusion, but that doesn't mean that the analysis should be dismissed. Didn't say it shouldn't be dismissed; just annoyed by your declaration that everything in the thread is "depressing." It's just seemingly the umpteenth example of you posting without reading everything. I don't have to ready everything to find his analysis somewhat of a downer. Nobody, Tim included has said that Castro's doomed to follow in the footsteps of Corey Patterson, but still not the type of thing that you want to see in a thread that I didn't expect to see make it past a page before someone slapped a padlock on it.

    Oh my. That is so awesome. Also, I don't think it can be stressed enough that Vogebach - while clearly fat - is NOT unathletic. This is from several scouts that have seen him in person. He's basically a white Prince Fielder (maybe a touch less athletic). He's fine at first and is not predestined to only a DH. Plus, he's lost 30 lbs since high school. I'm not ruling put the possibility of him trimming another 20ish lbs and being acceptable enough LF given his bat. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2 I've actually thought of that comparison in body type. Not just Babe Ruth, but the general old timey power hitter who had the look of an amateur soft ball player.

    Adam Dunn was a horrendous and completely unacceptable OFer, so God only knows what the [expletive] you're talking about. What I'm talking about is that as horrendous his OF defense was, his bat was valuable enough that they were willing to accept it in order to get it in the lineup, so assuming he continues to develope as the beast that he is early on, and assuming that Rizzo is our long term 1B, is giving Vogelbach some OF reps an option?

    No joke. If you want to use twitter to talk down to people, then don't be surprised if people throw that back in your face. Does he think Callis gets a bunch of "I Told You So" comments like that? It's just his thing. He's surely. Kind of like the Boers & Bernstein of Twitter. They trash virtually every caller, yet people can't get enough of them.

    Certainly encouraging. It would sure be nice to be able to count on him as a 5 starter next year. I just hope we don't have to count on him to be a 3 starter

    Beauty by Nick Struck. I'm going to bolt predict that his next start is with Iowa. With the Rule 5 decision coming up, there's more reason to than not to.

    It seems as though the majority of finesse pitchers tend to ultimately come down to earth. When a pitcher relies on hitting his spots and making the hitter do a lot of guess work, eventually the book will be out and hitters will adjust. It's then that pitchers responsibility to re-adjust. Whether or not they do so is the difference between them gracefully floating to earth at a point in which they can still be a reliable 4-5 starter, or if they crash to the ground, leaving behind a smoldering crater.

    Randy Wells was good once too In 2009, 2010, and then for 6 innings in 2011, he sure looked like someone who could be an affordable 4-5 starter for several years. Should we be upset that he only turned out to be an affordable 4-5 starter for a couple years? It would certainly have been better had he been an affordable 4-5 starter for a couple more years, but we've had far more to be upset about in recent years than a guy who came out of nowhere to give us 2 quality seasons and sunk as quickly as he emerges. I guess we should be thankful that Hendry didn't give him an / extension with a full NTC. Amiright?

    Yao Lin Wang with a nice follow up to Peralta's 14 K performance. 6 IP 10 K 0 BB 1 ER. What's the scoop on him anyway? Not much fan fare for a guy who's been quite good this season.

    The cavernous hell hole that is Pet Co park really isn't ideal best place for your slumping 22-23 your old future stars.

    The Jays are sub .500, in last place for their division and 5.5 back in the WC. While that's not an unsurmountable defecit, I can't imagine them doing any buying at this point. However, it wouldn't surprise me if they were watching Vitters, Jackson, or Barney for an offseason trade for a pitching prospect(s).
