  1. Rizzo or Vitters. Vitters was higher in pretty much everything than Bour. He's also 2 years younger and did it at a higher level. That and he's an actual prospect. Bour's not even the best hitter as far as non-prospects go. Rohan's .282/.349/.491 21 HR between 3 levels, bests Bour's .286/.363/.462 and 17 HR.
  2. Hayden Simpson's 23 now and continues to get knocked around at the lowest levels. Does he get one more year?
  3. Looks like Baker will be joining his fellow lefty-masher in the A T L.
  4. I take it that our PsTBNL will be similar to the Kosuke return, only instead of a crappy minor league reliever and a highish ceiling OF, we'll get 2 crappy minor league relievers.
  5. Alfonso Soriano's trade value will literally never be any higher than it is at this very moment. Seriously trade him by the end of the night.
  6. some reliever we picked off waivers from Baltimore and DFAd Lalli. I'm pretty sure he's the righty equivalent of Alex Hinshaw.
  7. Too bad he probably didn't make it past the first few AL non contenders. KC's actually a likely possibility as they've been looking for a front end starter and have the prospects to make it happen.
  8. It's not often that we encounter a bullpen as awful as our own.
  9. I expect 2013 to be another building year, though not nearly as painful as thise one has been. This being said, there's really no reason to bring on Rolen when Ian Stewart is going to be coming off of a wrist surgery and has 2 more years under team control. I really can't imagine him getting more than the 2.24MM through arbitration, so he should be given another chance. Meanwhile, Vitters can play some Winter Ball, spending a good deal of time in the OF and if he looks good and has a good spring training he should be considered for an OF spot.
  10. Nice stats for Volstad vs. the Giants. Now how many of those games were played at AT&T? Yesterday's game was fun, but I don't expect the streak to hit the big 2.
  11. Why do these guys love to hate Matt Szczur?
  12. More stunned we'd have been had we not protected Ryan Flaherty?
  13. I could be wrong, but I'm thinking that Vitters trade value is what it's going to be unless he has some type of offensive explosion the last month. Sticking him on the bench the rest of the season would drop it if anything, and I don't know how much further that the fumes of his AAA numbers will take it at this point whether he plays or not. As for Valbuena, he's had parts of 5 seasons now to, and shown that he's utility at best. I would, howeve be interested in seeing Cardenas get more PT, now that the rest of Iowa's seasons been canceled due to Issac. Still, my firm belief is that our 2013 3B will be one of Josh Vitters or Ian Stewart.
  14. Could we see some September call ups as soon as September 1st? Probably Beliveau, Cardenas, and Scrapana. Hopefully Sappelt. There's really no reason not to. We could use a spare RH OF anyway.
  15. Game Day/MLB At Bat have the big plays available. Just now watched the big 9th inning hits. Definitely one of those games which likely filled Brewerfan with "5th place team celebrating like they won game 7 of the World Series" type posts.
  16. I think we have a new, undisputed game of the year.
  17. With 33 games left, the 100 L prophecy will be a difficult to fulfill, but I'm confident in this team's lack of ability. With 6 vs. the Astros, 3 vs. the Rockies, and 3 vs. the D Backs, and all above .500 teams the rest of the way( Cards, Pirates, Reds, Giants, Nats), we can do it.
  18. Because in the final month of meaningless games, giving Valbuena the chance to prove that he's as good as Neifi Perez takes precedent over giving a struggling 22 year old who could still be a big part of the Cubs future as much PT as possible. Hopefully, winter ball is in Vitters' near future.
  19. Also, he probably doesn't get many Bruno questions, and he's at his snarkiest in regards to players he gets bombarded about, IE Lake, Szczur, Vogelbach.
  20. That's pretty huge praise from KG. The usual response would be something along the lines of "not much of a prospect."
  21. Awfully nice of the Cubs to let the Brewers and their fans relive 2011.
  22. If nothing else, this game has been an impressive duel between two of the few bright spots for two disappointing teams. OK, 1 disappointing team and one even worse than expected team. Now hopefully Shark doesn't come out and get rocked now that I said that.
