    An offensive upgrade worth a couple of wins would make a huge difference in our chances. Not only might we wrap up a playoff berth sooner, allowing us to set our pitchers up, but it increases the odds of postseason success. How many more chances are we going to get with our core players? Lee, Ramirez and Soriano are not going to get any better. Z might not come back. We don't have a great minor league system to plug holes. We need to play for this season. We might not get many more opportunities. this is terribly true with the right addition...this team DOES have what it takes to go the distance but i guess we will see

    felix pie is better than payton if nothing happens hopefully murton, pie, and soto all start to get significant time if nothing happens we are then about to really see what this team is made of because the august schedule definitely has the potential to slaughter us

    are you kidding? if the front office did bring up pie because they thought it'd make soriano play better, i'd be really pissed. why, do you not like pie? i like him fine, but bringing him up because you think he's going to somehow make soriano hit better is pretty ridiculous. if our gm really believed in stuff like that, i'd be real concerned. why is it such a bad idea to bring him up because of the way he affects the team's chemistry (apparently)...i mean...he really hasn't been given a chance this year...he most definitely hasn't been given a chance to hang out and ride through any slumps... i don't know...the kid is electric and i want him up here...but by me saying that i wasn't saying that the front office would pull him up solely because of that...the kid's skill's speak clearly enough for themselves, he also comes packing interesting intangibles though...

    who here thinks the pie/soriano connection is really as strong as it seems? if it really is...do you think the buffoons in the front office have any idea about it... if bringing pie back up to stay is a sure fire way to galvanize soriano into the allstar we need at this stage of the season what in the world is the hold up? oh wait...jones i am starting to get a bad feeling about this season

    i seem to have different standards than most people on this board. Yeah, that seems to be a bit low of a bar to set for happiness to me as well. Merely playing meaningful games in August is, well, meaningless. To me, at least. exactly...who cares if they are in the hunt if they don't make it...seriously...i would much rather have my teams suck then make a mad dash at the finish line and then fall on their faces...that SUCKS btw...we lost to a muppet tonight...a FREAKIN MUPPET i am jaded at the moment

    Go beat his ass. i don't really want to go to jail because if i went over there...well...i don't even want to think about it Just call the cops yourself. yeah, i have never been in this situation before...she is at her mom's house now..so...she is ok i guess he is just sitting at the house punching holes in the wall or something i really don't know what to do, but i have been telling her to leave him for a while now...however, she doesn't know if she can afford it (she has a one year old child with this cobstick) and her family thus far has not been behind her decision to leave him...hopefully things will change now and she will get some support... i don't like this feeling

    wow, this night just keeps on getting better...i just got a phone call from my friend...she was all sorts of crying when i answered the phone...apparently her boyfriend/fiancee or whatever...choked her... beautiful
