  1. Hopefully we can retain him. I can't imagine not having any of the three young star pitchers I thought would bring a WS ring to the northside as starters four years after almost getting to the big she-bang.
  2. I don't care who Cubs pitchers face. There are 162 games and Cubs have bad history with injuries. The pitchers should pitch when it is the best amount of rest for their arms. I would like to see a rotation that isn't ruined due to injuries for one season.
  3. What 10.6, good lord I hope not. BTW i know you meant 2.58
  4. Well since pitchers used to throw at least 150 pitches a game back in the day I do think the pitchers should be able to throw more. Although It should be said the reason they started throwing less in my opinion is because managers would rather have 90-100 pitches at max velocity then 150-175 at 75% velocity, which is how they are able to do it. Pitchers should be able to go 130 on average but they don't because they never build up the arm strength to do so, and because they pitch 100% all the time. Come to think of it that is the reason more than anything else you see so many injuries these days to pitchers arms. They throw full out soooo much their elbows/shoulders begin to break down. Throwing with less velocity, even if you throw a lot more pitches is better for your arm. Think about it. If you went out and played catch throwing 20 times all the way to home plate from left field your arm would be more tired and hurt more than if you threw 35-40 times just to the cut off man. Thats the best example that comes to mind that the average joe, like myself, can relate to.
  5. Yet another example of why the Cardinals can suck it.
  6. He's worthy of a final spot on a fantasy roster, which means final round pick. Any higher wouldn't be the best idea. I like Prior one of my favorite Cubs but can't justify drafting a guy who doesn't even have a spot in the rotation despite being healthy.
  7. La Russa is to pitchers as Mike Shannahan is to running backs and St. Louis is to pitchers as Denver is to running backs It must be the alcohol (coors, busch)
  8. I wouldn't mind it as long as its not 5 times a game. Once or twice a game during a dry stretch in the game could make it easier to get through. I have a bad history of falling asleep in my lazy boy during the 4-6 innings.
