Don't want to jump ahead but as a die hard Cub fan living in NJ ... I have to. For the last several years, I have flown to Chicago twice a year to catch a weekend series at Wrigley. Last year, I had a huge wedding and as a result of saving $$$ for the wedding, I didn't come out. This year ... I paid for the wedding ... so yet again, no trip to Wrigley ... Except ... If the Cubs make it all the way, I want to make sure I am there so I've told my wife that I would buy tickets to Games 4 and 5 at Wrigley to make sure I was a witness to the championship if there was one. I have a limited amount of time (only 2 days left off from work) and obviously don't want to throw money around. If I'm spending the money this year, I want to make sure I see something (or at least am in a position to see something) very special. Cubs World Series Tickets are already on several Broker sites at $2K to start. I worked for a ticket broker while I was in college so I know how this works ... but I have to admit, I have a little bit of sticker shock. With previous events, I just wait until the day of and grab something at the last minute. The only exception to this rule (and the only time I've ever spent big bucks on anything else) was the 1999 All Star Game at Fenway. I spend $1100 for the game ticket and $400 for the Derby ticket. The question is, do I wait on the Cubs WS tickets now ... or buy em at 2K ... and if I do that ... how crazy is that? Hard to imagine spending 4K on 2 tickets ... but I would be so upset if I missed it. Any ideas?
