  1. That, ladies and gents, is called winning two in a row. Yesterday the Braves realized they're gonna need a bigger boat. Today, they get put in the Dumpster. Ryan Dempster has, I believe, the lowest ERA among starters in the majors at the moment. The Braves are sending some schmuck named Delgado who is 2-3 with a 5.14 ERA and 1.46 WHIP. I'm told LaHair plans on eating him alive. GO CUBS
  2. Fun fact: if you switch the Cubs' W-L records, they're almost as good as the Braves! ROLL CUBS
  3. If only we had WSR and his super accurate cell-phone weather reports.
  4. Man are our minors depressing these days
  5. Could very well be at 3rd if Stewart is still sick.
  6. The positively shocking Shark looks to continue his recent streak of dominance. Feels like quite a while since the Cubs have actually lost a series, so let's keep it that way. But until 7:05... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swMzRlFvKMc http://i.imgur.com/seHQX.jpg
  7. Man do I enjoy the Len and Bob Scoring Matrix Hour(s)
  8. Volstad is so bad he could pitch in the bullpen.
  9. That's three straight starts of at least 6 IP with just 1 ER for Maholm.
  10. Man it's kinda fun having a soft-tossing lefty for once.
  11. Hayden Simpson for closer
  12. Not to jump the gun or anything but, thankfully, the guy has thus far been pretty lights out. While it would be absurd to expect him to keep this kind of a pace, it might not be crazy to imagine a scenario where he pulls into the trade deadline with an ERA in the low 3's thanks to his hot start. While he certainly isn't a long term investment for any potential trade partner, he could be a solid bet for a playoff run. What do you think Theo and Co. can get for that?
  13. Must be nice for him to see those balls in play finally dropping.
  14. Fun Fact: Dave Sappelt has more HRs than Brett Jackson so far.
  15. I chuckled
  16. Clearly a case of the "one bad inning syndrome". It really is kind of amazing how much so that has been the case for him so far.
  17. Wells was encouragingly lights out today, although it looks like he had some control issues: 5.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 3 K, 10/2 GO/FO

Anyone think it's safe to drop Scherzer yet?
