    Wacha just gave up 3 in the 1st to the Brewers. Given that and his last start against the Cubs, here's hoping he ran out of steam and sucks now.

    oh thank god for that. And I fully admit I had a "whoosh" moment. In my defense, I offer that I've entered the part of my life where my brain doesn't work without coffee.

    I think he and Wittenmeyer are the only two beat reporters I can't bring myself to follow because of general terribleness. I figured the piece was possibly in jest, but he also strikes me as the kind of guy who would actually be angry about such a thing.

He has stewed over this for months and apparently even had this exchange with Theo that he somehow thought he should include: I'm dying.

    I'd also like to take a moment and reflect on what an unmitigated train wreck AJ Preller's first year in San Diego has been. He came in, spent a huge chunk of the farm system acquiring players that went on to form one of the worst defenses in the leage and, assuming a loss tonight, will need to go 7-4 over their last 11 to even match last year's 77 wins.

    He and that team deserve each other. Also if the Cubs ever had the chance to knock a Dusty-managed Marlins out of the playoffs one day, that might be one of the most cathartic moments of my sports fan life.
