Today may well feature the most intriguing Iowa Cubs lineup we'll see all year, featuring Watkins, Barney, Stewart, and BJax. Most notably, BJax is batting 5th today.
Yea no clue who he is. Apparently been with the Cubs the whole way up the ladder since 2011, but he was also 27 when he signed... Edit: Apparently he's from Cuba?
GTFO, Brent. Call up Watkins now Sadly for all of us aboard the Watkins Wagon, Darwin Barney is also playing tonight. He's 1-3 so far, btw. Brett Jackson is 1-2 with a triple, BB and of course, a strikeout.
With game 2 of KC's double header now underway, Candelario has taken his third and fourth BB of the afternoon. Did I mention he doesn't turn 20 until late November?
Really not concerned about Soler's attitude. The kid is 21, in a new country and culture and apparently (and I'd say fairly) a bit sensitive about his family that he can't even see right now. He had the right attitude about the whole thing and I'm really not going to worry until he gives me another reason to do so. Besides, most scouts/execs had gushed about his makeup before the incident. Speaking of fun with small sample sizes, Rock Shoulders is OPSing 1.197 in his first 33 AB on the year. Yeehaw.
I hate the fact that his return really is worth looking forward to. I have, probably since he came here, had an irrational (perhaps SCS-esque) hope for and love of Ian Stewart. For some reason, the crazy fan in me just wants that dude to turn out well.
