  1. Pile on? I don't know how anyone can defend against Barrett having a subpar overall season.
  2. He not only argued balls and strikes he threw his helmet and bat... As already mentioned, I also heard, on John Dewan's Stat of The Week show, that the Padres pitchers are significantly worse when they have Barrett behind the plate (instead of Bard) and that the team is under .500 when he plays. Of course, it could be a coincidence but I'm not entirely convinced that it is completely without merit.
  3. Wow, this day is dragging on. I want baseball! Oh well, I'll get to watch the Brewers/Reds in about 30 minutes.
  4. http://i.a.cnn.net/si/2007/writers/gennaro_filice/07/13/fiveup.fivedown/t1_megel.jpg I can't be the only one who thinks that guy looks like a weirdo! Anyway, this guy needs to put down the pipe because it's not happening.
  5. They could've just put the extra game today and made it a 4-game series instead of a double header sometime later in the season. We are owed a game with them? Yes, there is a day-night double header on 9/15 at STL as makeup for the 4/29 Josh Hancock game that was postponed. The first game will be at 12:10 pm on WGN and the second game (originally scheduled for 2:55pm) will start at 7:10pm on CSN. FYI, I'm sure one of the reasons why they didn't schedule the double header for this series is because the Cardinals are already playing a day-night double header with the Brewers on Saturday (7/28). That is a makeup for a game that was postponed on 4/13.
  6. Yeah, they lost the final series of the homestand but the Cubs were 7-3 in the 10 games AND they picked up one game in the division during that time (remember, they were 4.5 games back coming out of the All Star Break) and possibly one game picked up in the Wild Card standings as well. They did a great job!
  7. Today's lineup as heard on The Score: Soriano, LF Theriot, SS Fontenot, 2B Ramirez, 3B Floyd, RF DeRosa, 1B Jones, CF Kendall, C Marshall. P
  8. ATL leads STL 4-1 going into the bottom of the 3rd
  9. Dodgers win 8-6
  10. That and the first run of the game was unearned. I feel like it's one that got away. Luckily, it didn't cost an extra game in the standings.
  11. Dodgers leading the Met 8-6 top 8
  12. Jenkins out to end the game. Thank you Giants! The Giants are going for the sweep tomorrow.
  13. Estrada got hit by the pitch as he was swinging. He's down and hurt apparently.
  14. Estrada K's swinging. 2 down
  15. Brewers are 1-39 when trailing after 8 innings.
  16. Fielder walks. He has no hits in the series and I believe it's the first time he's reached base in the two games.
  17. Braun flies out to deep CF 1 down
  18. Lincecum out. Taschner in
  19. Klesko K's to end the inning. 8-0 Giants with 3 outs to get!
  20. We also could have been 3.5 games back. No, the Brewers are going to lose so 1.5 is the answer. Well, we can't win them all. Oh, I agree. It would have been nice to win today however.
  21. LOL, and somehow the Brewers announcer tries to diminish the Cubs hit totals when they are getting shut out. Turnblow gives up a bases clearing double by Ray Durham
  22. We also could have been 3.5 games back. No, the Brewers are going to lose so 1.5 is the answer.
