  1. I heard 59. I heard 49 but there was static
  2. Izturis with a hit against Linebrink?
  3. Not what you want to see out a reliever either. Yeah...but he did basically get 4 outs before giving up the HR...the E at short and then the missed third strike...give the guy a break.. Sorry about that, sarcasm dosent come off well on a message board. No problem...I'm just "sensitive" on the Wood topic this spring... Completely unrelated note (and this is already discussed in rivals) but the Cards lost Kinney for the season today.... What happened to Kinney?
  4. If Pie split time with Jones, who would start against lefties? Pie is about as bad against lefties as Jones is. Pie's OPS was exactly 200 points higher against righties in Iowa last year. I'd rather have just about anybody than Pagan, though. Ok, Pie starts in Center, with Soriano at 2nd and Izturis tentatively at starting SS. That's how I'd play it. Horrible! I don't want Soriano at 2B and thankfully the Cubs agree.
  5. It's his second outing. I wouldn't come to any concrete conclusions one way or the other.
  6. The error didn't help but he was wild too. Luckily, it's still ST.
  7. YES, our guys are stepping up offensively.
  8. Now they're talking about Woo Woo's big mouth!
  9. Nice! RS on a Wild pitch OMG, that is Wickers!
  10. Yeah, and Neifi hit .371/.400/.548 in 62 ABs for us in 2004. Isn't he considered the worst hitter in the majors now? ...... and speaking of non sequetors......... :D
  11. It's nice to see Pie play well, but Lou's comments sure make it sound like the decision is already made that he's not going to be up right away. It's a crowded outfield right now. Lou's justt hoping that he can go with 11 pitchers so he can sneak in another utility infielder. I think Pie can only make the team if Jacque is traded. Unless, they decide it's Ok to have him on the bench instead of Pagan (long shot).
  12. I'm surprised he's not blaming the Cubs defense for that. Nice one! I've been sour on him since he took that shot at the Cubs. I forget. What did he say? After being traded to the Dodgers he made it known to their media that he was impressed with the team's infield defense (and he added that he did not have that luxury with the Cubs.) Of course, Cubs defenders couldn't reach those homers that left the yard... It rubbed me the wrong way.
  13. Except they offer no speed or defense and combine to block two of our best prospects. How exactly is Ward blocking anyone? Care to respond to my statements about what they actually CAN do? You know, something that has been definitively proven rather than merely hoped for? Well, Ward is blocking Cliff Floyd's spot on the bench for one...and looking at these guys' recent history I don't see them as any more proven than top AAA talent. They wouldn't be hanging on if it weren't for experience. Ward's recent production shows he was one of the best pinch hitters in the Major Leagues.
  14. I'm surprised he's not blaming the Cubs defense for that. Nice one! I've been sour on him since he took that shot at the Cubs.
  15. Izturis with an RBI single to score Coats 2 down
  16. Except they offer no speed or defense and combine to block two of our best prospects. Ward isn't blocking anyone. He was signed primarily to be a pinch hitter. As far as Floyd is concerned, his health will most likely dictate his ability to play.
