  1. Sori doesn't wear Under Armour shoes. He wears Reebok shoes. It's Pie. Good catch I forgot that he didn't wear UA shoes; had to sneak a peak of his picture... http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20070319/capt.16a0bba7c1304992bb96efb273cd8a2c.mariners_cubs_spring_baseball_azcc104.jpg
  2. That was assuming injury and or poor performance by someone else that would send them to the DL or Iowa. Now that Cotts has been added, Wuertz has recovered, and Wood still has a shot to be on the active roster, there doesn't appear to be anymore room for Cherry (or Guzman).
  3. Heh...who is that playing Spider-Man at the end? Sori? Pie? My best guess would be Pie (but they have similar body types).
  4. I agree, but look how many different sources are now saying that that number was off. How do we know that they aren't all using the same source? Hey, I hope they are wrong. Personally, I don't think there's anyway that that pitch was under 91. I hear ya... I'm just saying, the pattern of the reporting, for some of the articles, is exact; "averaged 86 to 87 m.p.h., topping out at 89." We know none of the writers have radar guns. It's very possible that most of them sought the advice of a particular scout or relied on the in-house reading (which might be inaccurate too). On the road, other teams may slow down the gun.

  6. There were a few different scouts in attendance. Like I said before, there were probably various radar guns in the yard as well. The Comcastsportsnet reading may have been optimistic but Foxsports.com reported that Prior reached 90mph a couple of times... Most importantly, Prior was able to execute his pitches, deceive hitters, and be reasonably efficient after the first inning.

  8. Not necessarily... Lou, like most everyone else, wasn't expecting a dramatic improvement in Prior's pitching. Now, Lou will have to play this thing by ear--starting with how Mark feels today. Today's report will help Lou make pitching decisions for next week. Lou needs to get the relievers two inning stints and in back to back games. Obviously, the priority will be to get innings for the pitchers with a legitimate shot to make the team (which may mean Guzman and Cherry no longer get priority innnings). If Prior is healthy, and still has a chance to make the team out of ST, he will most likely relieve Rich Hill in his next start. ESPN.com
  9. Obviously, there were different radar guns in place. Foxsports
  10. side note: The media is ridiculous. Media people are always looking to tear someone down. We were inundated with info after Prior's first two suck fest outings and I can't find any reputable analysis of his improved performance in the mainstream media. That dweeb Paul Sullivan and the AP had reports out within moments of the completion of his previous starts... A little balanced reporting would be nice. :x
  11. He made some positive progress. I'm curious to read Lou's post game comments.
  12. Hmmm where's the AP report about Prior's improved outing? :?
  13. I bet this game is delayed after the inning is over.
  14. LOL, it's true but he looked really bad in the first inning (and still only gave up one run).
  15. I saw 85 on one of his pitches. I've had my back to the TV for the most part. The highest I saw was 87. He got it up to 93mph. They are talking about Maddux's mph oops
  16. I saw 85 on one of his pitches. I've had my back to the TV for the most part. The highest I saw was 87. He got it up to 93mph. Aside from the gun, the awkward swings, that had been missing in his previous outings, were noticeable today. His pitches were deceptive and he was throwing harder.
  17. This game is on Comcastsportsnet and he has been up to 93mph
  18. WOW, WELCOME BACK MARK PRIOR! He still needs some work but there is renewed optimism!! :D
  19. I agree. This is a huge improvement over his previous starts. A few more starts and he could be ready to pitch for the Cubs.
  20. It's that juice between innings.
