My point is that Zambrano's starts need to equal team victories more often than not. The team can't afford for him to go 0 for April. Losing today's game stings but there will be more days when the bullpen stinks--- but 2 out of the 3 days they pitched very well. I also agree that the offense didn't do it's job today because they should have outscored the Reds. However, in the broader view of the series, Zambrano was a larger disapointment than the bullpen. Of course, we would have liked a 'pen meltdown to have happened in Zambrano's already losing effort, so they could have locked down today's game, but things don't workout that way. Bottom line: the ace can't give up 5 runs in 5 IP. He will have to pitch deeper into games and keep himself under control... For as much as I hate to say it, he has failed miserably when pitching in high pressure situations. I hope he's up for the challenge this weekend against Sheets.
