  1. Prior will not pitch at all for the rest of this season.
  2. This makes no sense at all. And now the sun is coming out at Wrigley. Len said the rain is still falling at Wrigley Field. Again, the game should start in about 30 minutes. A little drizzle has never killed anyone. I agree but games usually don't get started while it's raining. The Cubs are holding it up because this is their call before the game starts (afterwards the umps dictate the delays). Anyway, this is a time when extra concessions are sold. lol, it's win-win for the Cubs. ;)

  4. Len just estimated the game should start in about 30 minutes.
  5. It's going to be played. They just have to wait for the rain to stop first. Tom Skilling, WGN meteorologist, just said that the rain is leaving the area (it may sprinkle during the game but it shouldn't be enough to cause a delay once things get started).
  6. In fairness to Lou, I think he is showing now that he has the ability to change in midstream. Bruce Miles just said that Lou thought, in Spring Training, Theriot played best on the right of the infield. Putting Theriot at SS proves that he understands that Ryan's bat is needed in the lineup and that Izturis has been under performing both on offense and defense. The way it's being presented on WGN, it appears that SS is Theriot's to lose now.
  7. That's different. They had to come up with a problem to put him on the DL. Again, Lou doesn't need an excuse for Murton not being in the lineup. If there is a doubt, the media will certainly attempt to talk to Matt directly.
  8. How convinent LOL, maybe it's true. Lou doesn't need to offer any excuse for why someone isn't in the lineup...
  9. According to The Score, Piniella says Murton isn't playing because he has a stiff back.
  10. He is that guy with one more no-hitter than Greg Maddux. are you serious? lol mark buehrle is soooooooo much better than maddux! first ballot hof for sure now with that no hitter! let's vote hideo nomo in, he's TWICE as good as maddux! Let's not forget future HoF'er Anibal Sanchez! He too is much better than Maddux. I think Sanchez and Buehrle will have their own wing in Cooperstown. :joker: Sanchez is a very promising young player. In his rookie year last year he was 10-3 with a 2.83 ERA at 22 years old. I think Buerhle and Nomo make the better jokes. I don't (outside of 2006 Buehrle hasn't had a bad career either). Seemingly every pitcher on that Marlins staff is injured this year. Sanchez's career going forward is uncertain... My point is that one good season, or game, doesn't equate to a HoF career.
  11. Dang you....I saw this and thought it was the actual line-up. For about 3 seconds I thought Lou finally did something good. hey....if the post above is true and Theriot is playing at SS I think we're moving in the right direction... How did this take a life of its own? The above lineup is NOT the official lineup. Is it? No, it's a guess. Soriano is not starting today. Theriot is leading off and playing SS. Piniella hinted today that Theriot may play SS more often... He also said in the pregame that outside of today, Theriot will be second in the lineup from now on (when he plays that is).
  12. Lou said in his postgame press conference last night that, outside of a few changes from time to time, he would go with a daily set lineup. Tribune Suntimes
  13. Theriot SS and leadoff. Soriano is off today probably because of the slippery OF.
  14. Stone did not say Lou Piniella was the best manager the Cubs have ever had. He said Piniella is the best manager "perhaps since Leo Durocher." Podcast listen at the 53:54 mark There's plenty of other debatable material...

  16. Suntimes Hendry said previously that Guzman being recalled for the May 1 start was contingent on pitching well in his next MiL start. So, now we know it will be Guzman against PIT.
  17. Floyd K's to end the game this was embarrassing
