  1. You know I just don't see how Soriano is a 40+ home run hitter. I gotta watch some highlights or something and act like hes doing it for the Cubs.
  2. Lou Piniella also sounded like Mr. Perfect before the regular season. But Bob's mustache alone would have helped the Cubs to at least 5 more wins than they have right now with happy go lucky Lou QFT
  3. I think this forum should be called Game Rants
  4. Haha, this almost had me spit my beer all over my monitor.
  5. Hey Omar I'm sure you've been asked this plenty but who is that with the hose?
  6. Are you sure about that ?They may be taking different routes, but their ending up at the same place. Eh, at least Hendry has done some things right. Those 2 have never done anything right as GMs. But I would say hes in that company. I would say drafting Channing Frye and Damon Stoudamire where both better than anything Jim has done. Oh come on, any GM would have taken Frye with that spot...and Isiah Thomas was a part of drafting Tracy McGrady, Mighty Mouse as you said and Marcus Camby. All good players but he was a VP, how much input do you know that he had? I'm sure it was a mutual decision, those were all easy choices at the draft spots they had. However, much better draft decision then Millen, even if you want to throw him out. And how has Jim Hendry done drafting? Not that great.

  9. The Cubs offense will come back. Not saying the pitching will get better but the defense could do a hell of a lot better.
  10. oh come on, lee probably scoops out more of those than any other first baseman in the game. He's not going to get them all... ARam had plenty of time and made a bad throw. I'm not even gonna get into that. I'm just a little passionate here, if you ask him he would tell you he needs to catch that. I'm not talking about his efficiency at doing it over the course of a season. And obviously 90% of the blame lies with Aram.
  11. Well I'll say, they are making mistakes and they are getting compounded by being unlucky. This is insane.
  12. The fundamentals of this team are just atrocious. Aram has been looking gold glove over there too, Lee needs to pick that.
  13. come on man. you know what i meant. yeah, you got upset at a baserunning mistake and said something silly. it's ok. J-Shils just open up some stat sheets or ignore him. I know you're not in this game thread to argue with someone you're just here cheering the Cubs.
  14. He could of Happy Gilmore'd it and got in front of that ball.
  15. Hmm, I seriously think we will see the Cubs pull a (beginning of Little Big League) Those who have seen the movie will get it.
  16. Eh izzy in the 2 hole won't make or break this game. With all the good numbers the Cubs offense has against Willis they should have and capitalize plenty of opportunities.
  17. I have been reaping his fantasy benefits all year however my pitching won't allow me to get past 4th place.
  18. I understand all of this. My point was that the quote left me thinking that he fails to understand the mechanics of the game and especially his role on the team. ERA is a somewhat flawed stat, however it is a far more accurate indicator as to how well one has pitched than win and loss statistics. FWIW, while he may have two more wins, he also has two more losses than he did at this point last year. Now, that being said, It's clear that Zambrano is in the unenviable position of needing to pitch well both to help his team win but also so he can secure his livelihood. He was simply providing his perspective as to why people shouldn't worry about his performance thus far. It may have come off as overreaction and probably was, but my purpose was to point something out, not to necessarily drag him over the coals or expect him to be a stat guru. Well said.
  19. Oh my, a bunch of stat-geeks on a message board over-analyzing a comment made by Zambrano that pretty much coveys the same message you hear athletes say in team sports, "win games." I'm not insulting you as we all have a little geek in us but keep waiting for Zambrano to say I hope I can lower my WHIP with my next outing. Remember, hes not paid to argue his effectiveness to the media, just to win games.
  20. Mrs. Dukes allegations may/may not be true, but she's certainly a gold digger. She's not a golddigger. The money is for the kids. No wonder hes contemplating killing her.
  21. I'll be at the Indy 500, one of the few things that make this city worthy of habituating. But uh win the series Cobbies.
  22. You offered to pay for someone's premium if the Cubs took 2/3?
