  2. Fukudome now 0-4 with 3K's Lee's BA down to .156 That's a bit concerning
  3. My sources tell me that I should just stop by to do my part in bringing this one post closer to 300, and that page 300 is likely to happen within the next 3-6 days.
  4. That's the way to pitch yourself into the rotation, Jason. Thanks Bruce!
  5. Let's see a couple more innings like that from Z
  6. That goatee makes him look about 10 years older. So he now finally looks 21 Kinda makes him look Morandini-esque
  7. And of course the Cubs will win... at "home" in game 7 at the Cell.
  8. What better way to make post #1000
  9. Last one was July 4, 2004 at Wrigley. Derrek Lee homered early and that was it for the entire game, until LaTroy gave up the same to Carlos Lee in the 9th (typical 2004 game, am I right?). The Cubs won when Damaso Marte walked Walker with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th. That's right. The walk-off walk by Walkah. That was awesome. Nope. Our very own Shingo Takatsu walked in Todd Walker. Here's the Box Score. Incorrect. It was Shingo's runner that scored...Marte was the pitcher, and the box score reflects that he was the last to pitch in the game.
  10. Tel me about it -- September games against the Brewers and the Mets that nobody outside the Chicago Metro can see! What more could you ask for?
  11. FWIW -- Kaplan said on SportsCentral tonight on WGN that he had "pretty good" sources that said a potential Roberts trade would begin taking more direction in coming days. Names Kaplan mentioned were Gallagher and Marquis plus one more unnamed prospect. I know, nothing new here, but a bit of optimism reinforcing what's been heard for the last couple days.

  13. FWIW -- Bruce was on Sports Central earlier this evening and reiterated his claim that there was never a 7-for-2 deal on Angelos' desk, and that those rumors were unsubstantiated from the beginning.
  14. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=3140986&name=winter_meetings :pig:
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=3140986&name=winter_meetings 9:52 p.m., from Jerry Crasnick • The Cubs don't have much hope of prying loose center fielder Josh Hamilton from Cincinnati. The Reds are willing to trade Hamilton, but they would prefer not to deal him to another club in the National League Central.
  16. Vegas anytime in mid to late March sounds great...So does Arizona!!
  17. Please e-mail this proposal to Mr. Hendry
  18. How ticked must the Red Sox be??? ARod upstages them moments before they win the WS, and now kicks them in the balls by staying with the Yanks... =D>
  19. If Jones is back on the Cubs in 2008, I will be one very unhappy person
  20. Call my crazy, but I would start Kerry Wood on Tuesday if it gets to a Game 5. Save him this weekend for a potential Game 5. Sure, he may only be able to go 3-4 innings at the most, but he's looked better than either Lilly or Marquis, and he's been there before. Maybe Lilly comes out of the bullpen for the middle innings, then onto the usual suspects for the late innings.
