  1. At this point, I'm too high on Marshall, Hill, and Marmol to really consider trading them. We'd have to be blown away.
  2. I fear this will be an extremely high scoring game on both sides. Jason can't really set down the Cards a third time, can he?
  3. Up two games in the loss column on Hotlanta. Excellente.
  4. Up the ladder for a strikeout!
  5. Jesus Jacque grounds out sharply to first like 60% of his at bats.
  6. Rome's the man. Just kidding. Right? I mean, you meant to type that. Right?
  7. This is one of my favorite threads in recent memory, no doubt about it.
  8. I don't watch ESPN anymore. What is this exactly?
  9. Prior deserves every dig he gets. He does not. It's not like he's trying to be hurt so he can collect his paycheck without having to work for it. And it's certainly not his fault that Dusty abused him in 2003. Now Dusty is man who deserves every dig he gets. He may have robbed us of a dynasty. He and Hendry. I won't dispute that. Then you shouldn't be saying Prior isn't tough either.
  10. They've already got a shutdown bullpen. Seems trivial.
  11. Personally, I think the White Sox need to make some kind of move like this. They are a bad team and they have very little hope of passing the Tigers, Indians, or Twins in the next few years. When Buerhle was in the headlines, I thought they should have traded him if they could get a good enough package for him. Nobody is going to give you much for Dye, Iguchi, or Contreras. There are problems with Vasquez (contract), Garland (knot in pitching arm), and Crede (back). Meanwhile, they will have to fill about 4-5 positions next year and 3-4 pitching spots. Now or the off season is the time to float some names like Konerko, AJ, etc. and see if you can rebuild for 2009-2010. If you don't think they'd get much for Dye, they'd get next to nothing for Pierzynski. He's not a valuable player at this point. And Vazquez? I'd give up a lot to get him.
  12. If that's the case, then they better not expect a high-level prospect. No, 2.5 million isn't much at all, it's just that i'm a little irked that we even have to consider 2.5 million is too much. I think that's simply speculation. I seriously doubt Jimbo wouldn't be allowed to take on 2.5 million.
  13. ESPN Insider's rumor central reports that the Angels are making a strong push to acquire Konerko from the Sox. Konerko has a limited NTC, but the writer speculates that he would waive it to play for the Angels. According to the blurb, the Sox are deciding between trading Konerko or Jermaine Dye. Interesting.
  14. Marquis is due to get hammered by the Cards, so it's important to win today.
  15. Don't be so sure. I can see him still staying on the team, even if he sucks. we've seen crazier things before. I don't think Lou is a demi-God like some people here, but I do think he holds his players accountable. If Kendall continues to be a negative contributor on both offense and defense, and especially if he continues to clash with the pitchers, I can't imagine Lou will just sit back and take it.
  16. The only thing that makes me feel good is that I think that if Kendall continues to struggle in all facets of the game, the Cubs will have no problem casting him off when Henry gets back.
  17. Wouldn't have taken Murton to long either. What's your point?
  18. If I ever found out Jim Hendry turned down the best offer for a player simply because it was from the White Sox, I'd be pretty pissed. As irrational as they sometimes are, I imagine White Sox fans would be equally pissed.
  19. Alright, I've just about had it with Kendall.
  20. Wells has pitched pretty well, there's no reason to pull him.
  21. Kip should just use his other hand. It'd work.
