  1. management, he's on there alright, which one is still a mystery Juedes, you're really losing here, but I believe you Thanks King, I think you know who my source is and know that I am not **** here, that this is legit.

  3. That is not true at all the Cubs and WGN are under contract meaning they would go together, it would have to be part of the package deal if they are sold. This you can look up and find out. The contract between WGN and the Cubs means they have to be sold as part of a package deal? I doubt that. The TV rights and the Cubs would go together and since WGN and the Cubs are still under contract that would mean they would go together. The trib. wouldn't hold onto the TV rights of a team they don't have a controlling interest in, that makes no business sense.
  4. No, you can't assure us of that. That's the nature of anonymous internet postings. If you don't believe it than take it for what it is worth, all I can do is tell you what I heard from someone with knowledge of the situation. Now if the Cubs get sold sometime before next season, then my source was right. Right. And you get to be known as the guy who knows that higher up int he trib. Hey remember mjuedes, he's that guy that knows a trib exec. Look, your words fully expose your intention. You're taking a shot at being right so we can all beleive your this guy with an incredible source. Thats right because I do know a higher up at the Trib. and I happen to have lived with his son for 4 years now. If you don't believe me on this thats fine, I am simply trying to provide the board with information that I heard from someone. I am not going to be offended if you don't believe me, I would be skeptical too, but I am going to sleep fine tonight I know I am telling the truth whether or not you believe it is up to you And I choose not to. Perfectly fine with me, but when they get sold before the season begins I will make a point of calling you out for not beleiveing and you can do the same in return if they are still part of the Tribune by opening day 2007.

  7. No, you can't assure us of that. That's the nature of anonymous internet postings. But I'm a 15 year old girl with big boobs looking to experiment. It's bogus. A top 5 at the Trib. wouldn't even tell their own son with this type of information. When you are that high up you have a responsibility to keep your mouth shut. You don't mix family and business. Espically with this kind of information. Good point. Your turn mjuedes. What you guys are confusing is the speculation part with fact. I never said that the deal was 99.9% completed, I said HE was 99.9% sure the Tribune would spin off the Cubs before the start of the 2007 season. And that is absolutely not true about mixing business and family, my family used to own a business and I know plenty of stuff that the public doesn't know that went on there. The fact that Tribune wants to sell off many parts of their company makes this a very plausible speculation by my source. He has nothing to gain from the sale of the company, he wouldn't be able to sell his stock there are laws against it.
  8. No, you can't assure us of that. That's the nature of anonymous internet postings. If you don't believe it than take it for what it is worth, all I can do is tell you what I heard from someone with knowledge of the situation. Now if the Cubs get sold sometime before next season, then my source was right, if not then his specualtion was wrong. These things change all the time and it has been well documented that the Tribune wants to sell off all of their non-core assets and go private again. If the Cubs were to be sold the TV rights would go with them meaning that the employess of WGN and Tribune Production would be going with that sale.
  9. If your housemate's father was really that high up. I think he would have told you it's smart to not go on messege boards and give inside information. I therefore conclude you are just a new poster posting bogus information to get attention. And since when does a higher up's son need a housemate? Their stinkin rich!! Sorry nothing against you, but you do not have a 3 year tradition of posting rumors which turned out to be true. Whether or not a higher up at Tribune's son has a housemate has no bearing on the Tribune selling off the Cubs. Why would I be trying to get attention, I can assure you I have better things to do during the day than try and get a message board fired up by posting bogus rumors. And there is nothing wrong with posting someones speculation. Many people posted that Dusty was going to get fired based purely off their own speculation. This speculation just happens to come from someone with more knowledge of the situation than you or I.
  10. The only way it would be insider trading is if he knew for sure that they had a buyer lined up and the sale was not yet released to the public. He is speculating based on the information he knows. He would not be necessarily involved in any selling discussions directly, that would be the CEO and the Board. But good try.
  11. Plus it is not like it is new news that the Cubs might be spun off if the Tribune tries to go back to their core and take the company private for a few years
  12. I would be very skeptical about this too, but I know for a fact that this is very possible, my source is not my uncles-best friends sister in law through marriage, it is my housemates dad who is in the top 5 at Tribune. All he said was that he is 99.9% sure they will be sold before the season starts, that is his feeling based on the way their internal meetings with Chantlers have gone and based on what he knows, which to say the least is far more than anyone on the NSBB board unless there is someone who is in upper management at Tribune that would disagree with these statements.
  13. I know this is my first post on the site, but I have been reading the posts on NSBB for over a year now. I know someone who is very high up at Tribune and he told me yesterday that he is 99.9% sure that the Cubs will be sold before the start of the 2007 season. That due to all the shake up that is about to happen at Tribune, that the Cubs would be one of the first pieces to go. Now this shake up that is gonna happen will also cost my source his job most likely, but he is high up enough that he has a golden parachute so it is of no matter to him. He didn't mention any potential buyers, but he did almost guarantee that a sale will be done in the next 5 months.
