    When the trade was announced I was in joy simply for the fact we rid this team of Izturis. I don't care if Duke's arm is in shreads right now, just getting the chance to get him and taking a flier that he willl come back strong is icing on the cake. Hendry if you could pull this deal off I might have to move you up from below average GM to Average GM.

    Wow...Duke would be awesome..he is only 24 and has a chance to be a solid starter at this level.

    Call up Hendry and tell him he's still alive. If Murton wants to get back, all he has to do is become a switch hitter. Who cares if he can hit from that side, all I know is that Hendry see's "Switch Hitter" and creams his pants. He doesn't even bother reading the splits

    I agree with the posters that say Bonds is a total jerk, but you do have to give him some credit as a great ballplayer. Before we get all excited about Arod breaking Bonds' HR record, do we have any proof that Arod isn't using something? We are in an era where every batting and pitching record has a cloud of suspicion hanging over it. His physique? Isn't that proof enough? Unless he is using a lean mass roid, but I believe that only benefits track athletes and such.

    I hate Bonds with a passion, but IMO, he could have still broken the record with the juice. Yeah, I don't think he would have had that monster 72 HR season...but he would have still put up around 40-50 HR's each year plus I don't think his body would have been as broken down. That is why Arod will own that record easily. He is in such good shape he will probably be a 3rd baseman till he is 40, then could DH for another 5 years...if he choses to play that long.

    Cubs need to get off this LOOGY obession. Get rid of Eyre...I'm sure Gallagher or some other righty can manage to fair better against lefites vs. Mr. ADD

    It should be noted that the PCL pitching sucks, sucks, sucks. Evidenced by the fact that every player on Iowa seems to have an OPS over .900 right now. :lol: The leading PCL Cy Young Candidate http://www.baseballtips.com/products/cobraII.jpg Stuff is very average, and not much break...but I hear he has great control.

    I don't understand how he "seriously" injures himself while falling down trying to catch a popup. It's not like he overexerted himself. He basically just fell down like a wet noodle. He is a big boy, that is alot of momentum. But seriously, losing Ward and his 8 RBI's this season will just "kill us". Not good news at all. Cancel the season folks. While losing Ward isn't a big blow, citing his 8 RBIs is a pretty poor argument to make, especially considering how often he plays. In only 63 AB he has a .456 OBP and a .900 OPS. Sample Size

    It's amazing how popularity loosens nsbb guidelines. Yeah, some people on here can be dicks and everyone just looks the other way. The next version of the message board will have the ability for posters to "report" posts that are inappropriate or in violations of the guidelines. Until then, we have to go by what the mods see, or what is PM'd to us. I can't speak for other mods, but I haven't been online in a few hours, so I hadn't seen any of this. And I sure didn't get any PM's on the issue. We deal with things as we see them, but like you, we're only human. And as I've always said, just because you don't see a mod post about it in a thread, doesn't mean a problem isn't being dealt with by PM. This post has been reported

    I'm floored by the performance of the offense to be honest. It doesn't matter if we are minus a D. Lee or an Aram...they have been tossing up a ton of runs pretty much on a daily basis.
