  1. Yeah, this would be another example of their classless organization.
  2. Where did you read this?
  3. Dempster, before the 2006 season. Something about how he didn't like how the Sox were "parading through our streets." I think he said that because the Sox had thoughts of taking the parade through the North Side. I highly doubt that was a dig on the W.Sox. I really think that the Cubs players don't pay too much attention what is going on with the South Side. I also remember Howry being asked how it feels to be playing for the Cubs and his response was something like "You mean the good side of town?" I am pretty sure Erye said something like that as well. I actually love it when the Cubs and Sox players are more candid when asked about the rivalry. The sports writers love to ask the Sox players/mangers questions about Wrigley and the Cubs because they know it will piss them off, they will give a quote, and the writer will have a story. Players and mangers get ripped for canned answers all the time, at least they are being honest... even if what they say is stupid.
  4. The difference is the media asks the White Sox players questions about the Cubs.
  5. Personally, I've laughed at a number of the posts. But, I think others find it "off-putting" because it reeks of hypocrisy. Bingo.
  6. I would imagine every single Sox fan cares about last year. I saw the director of marketing on Chicago Tribune Live before the Sox series saying that this was going to be the "yeah but series" refering to the Sox may have won the World Series but the Cubs were going to beat them head to head this year. And what is wrong with Kenny Williams not wanting to play 2nd fiddle to the Cubs? I sure hope our management takes the same stand as he does. When Ozzie said "f the Cubs" he was being asked about the upcoming series against the Cubs after a lose and he full quote had to do with not caring or getting excited for the Cubs series and being more focused on the Tigers. If AJ really said that he would rather have the Tigers beat the Cubs then he is a complete idiot but I would like to see a link for that quote. When you get a break from following the American League Central Division you should watch some Cub games. If they are just saying the "Cubs suck" they are putting it nicely if you ask me. Where did I suggest you to root for the White Sox? So it is acceptable for a Cubs manager to take an anti-Sox stance but if a Sox manager/player/fan take that stance or make that quote against the Cubs it is another example you use to further fuel your hate for the Sox. You are a hypocrite.
  7. I am a long time lurker of this board, first time poster. Being a Cub fan, I had often heard my fellow fans remark about Sox fans that the Sox fans cared as much as or maybe even more about the Cubs losing as the Sox winning. I never really found that to be true in the few good friends I had who were Sox fans but you always run into the occasional a-hole at a bar or a party that wants to talk trash just because you are wearing a Cub hat. I still never put the entire fanbase into one category because of a few idiots because we have all been to Wrigley Field over the past few years and seen it turn into a desination for many "fans" over a place to actually watch a baseball game. The entire whole of Cub nation isn't perfect. There are bad fans on every side of the aisle. It is only when you have such a strong dislike or even hate for one side that solely focus on those negatives. That all being said, CBB represents everything he hates in the White Sox fanbase and is a hypocrite. Maybe more Cub fans are drifiting in the direction of putting the enjoyment of a Sox lose as with a Cubs win as the Sox continue to win and the Cubs continue to let us down. Recently I was out with my one of my Sox friends and someone remarked to him if he was enjoying 2nd place. I mean, I am Cub fan till I die but I am not stupid enough to talk trash to a team that is defending a World Series title and in position to return to the playoffs when my favorite team is playing like a little leauge ballclub. No matter how much pain and suffering some Cub fans wish upon the Sox they will still have a World Series title to fall back on to comfort them... and what do we have nothing? So whats the point?
