  1. Quick inning for the Cubs-Murton and Cedeno ground out, Soto strikes out. 3-2 Cubs after 3 1/2.
  2. Giles almost took Guz deep again, but he flied out the warning track in straightaway center field-Ramirez also caught a line drive right at him from Hudson-Guz's pitches are either excellent right now or absolutely nowhere near. A great strikeout of Renteria to end the inning Guzman-3 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 2 HR, 0 BB, 5 K 3-2 Cubs after 3.
  3. Jones grounds out, it's 3-2 Cubs after 2 1/2
  4. And Lee hits into a DP-bouncer right to the bag at 2B.
  5. Ramirez leads off with a single that almost hit Hudson.
  6. Guzman again looks very good after the HR..has 4 K's after 2, but giving up a solo HR every inning is not going to do it for him.
  7. Hmm..Part 2 here-Guzman gets behind, comes back to 3-2, throws a fastball down the middle to Mccann, and it's a HR to dead center-3-2 Cubs now.
  8. Theriot strikes out looking on a fastball on the outside corner- 3-1 Cubs after 1 1/2.
  9. Pierre lines a base hit to right..Cedeno scores, Soto for some reason runs on Franceour, but Mccann drops the ball and Soto scores. 3-1 Cubs, Theriot up with 2 runners on now (BTW, I had no idea that Pierre was now the NL hit leader)
  10. Guzman hits another slow chopper to 3rd-it was so slow that it was an easy hit and the 3rd baseman has to pocket it-bases loaded for Pierre, 2 out
  11. Soto scores a run simply because he didn't hit the grounder hard enough..ground ball chopped to 3rd that the 3rd baseman could only get the out at 3rd and no throw to 1st. Tied at 1, Guzman up with runners at 1st and 2nd and 2 outs now.
  12. Close call on the Murton error-chopper to 3rd, Murton beat it because the throw was on the other side of the bag-it probably should have been a hit, it was a tough play.
  13. Jones steals second without a throw another report from the announcer "Murton is a gamer who can run a little bit"
  14. Jones looked at 2 or more close pitches in that 4 pitch walk-good work Jones.
  15. Yeah, both strike 3's were beautiful curves on the inside corner..both Braves looked at the ump for a second, but didn't have that much of an argument.
  16. Wow..after the HR Renteria looks at 3 strikes in a row LaRoche grounds out on the first pitch A. Jones looks at 3 straight strikes Guzman is getting both his fastball and his breaking pitch over-if he can continue doing that, he could have a very good outing.
  17. Guzman falls behind Giles 3-1, then delivers a fastball right down the middle-HR left-center, 1-0 Braves.
  18. Apparently Guzman's hand cramped up so badly last start that he couldn't even bend his fingers.
  19. "Aramis Ramirez has had a quiet outstanding campaign, including a Gold Glove defensive year"
  20. I think it's one of those situations where the Cubs game was supposed to be originally on, but since they are out of it the White Sox game is going to air instead-they'll be on later tonight.
  21. I'll be providing updates abut what Turner South is saying throughout the ballgame if interesting things come up-first one is a 2 minute montage on how amazing Juan Pierre is-should be an interesting game, that's for sure.
  22. I used to live in Oklahoma, and I know exactly where Fred is! In Sayre, just about anything would be wortheless on a Friday. Meh. On the TV thing, if it isn't on WGN, the Atlanta site shows it's on Turner South. So if your cable system has WTBS, they might have the game. Except that you would have to listen to Chip...... :P  Thanks for the info! I knew there was some benefit to where I'm living right now (if you call it a benefit :D ). BTW, I like this lineup a great deal.
  23. He could be just as good if not better than Theriot and we are giving him a chance. I'd like to see them split time at 2B next year unlesss you are planning to make a big upgrade like Soriano. There's a few differences between Theriot and Fontenot. Theriot is still young enough to be considered a prospect, while Fontenot should have broke into the bigs already. Theriot is 6 months older than Fontenot. I thought he was 24? I guess I thought wrong... Yeah, Theriot turns 27 in December, and Fontenot turns 27 next June.
