That may be true, but last time that I checked, there were 3 LH RP in the Cubs BP. If the SP goes out early, that creates a problem. You can't use a guy like Ohman to pitch to just one LH batter each game. That is a waste of a roster spot.
We can only hope. But how much damage to the offense can Izturis cause batting in the 8th slot? When Zambrano pitches, it's nice to see him at the plate with no one on base, so he can swing for the fences. Izzy batting 8th has some advantages.
You really think so? Only Howry and Eyre are proven RPs. Dempster could return to form and I think that he will. But everyone else is mediocre, not to mention Cotts who is dreadful and Wood who is always hurt. Nope, the BP is a weak spot.
