  1. Booyah! Huge win for the Tigers tonight. Mizzou with a very faint heartbeat for the tourney right now, which if you woulda told me after the kU game, I would have called you crazy. Its nice to have a team thats competitive and winning games, as opposed to the crapfest Mizzou has given us the last three years. Wow.. Mizzou fans rooting for the same team I do.. :) I'm totally rooting for Mizzou at this point in time.
  2. Real big game tonight. Lots of shuffling going on in the middle of the Big 12, hopefully Mizzou can get their 3rd in a row against an OU team that hasn't fared very well on the road. Lunardi is normally very, very good with his predictions. I'd really like to believe that the Big 12 has that much weight, if for nothing else that it keeps a shred of hope that Mizzou could get an at-large with a miracle spurt to end the season, but I don't think that's the case. The Big 12 is down this year, 7th in RPI(just below the Valley and above the Mountain West) among conferences, and I'm not sure if KSU is guaranteed a spot considering some of the other conference crunches, unless they beat one of the other 3 tourney teams(KU, aTm, Texas) in the conference tourney. My only thought is we have already beaten Texas AT Texas. If USC hadn't have lost to ASU, that would have been a pretty nice win too. That's definitely an impressive win, but unfortunately that's the only one. KSU is 1-5 against the RPI Top 50, and OSU is the only team left on the schedule that fits that bill. Even then, the catch-22 is that OSU likely loses to aTm tomorrow, meaning that if KSU beats them too they drop out of the top 50. Also, while the Texas win is great, it's countered somewhat by bad losses against New Mexico and Colorado St. I'm not disagreeing at all, but I still believe, 4th place in the Big 12 and one Big 12 Tourney win and we're in. That's regardless of if we go 2-1 or 3-0. How can you predict that not knowing how the small conference tourneys go? What if Butler loses in theres? Or Memphis? It's all on the basis that OSU and TT have some pretty tough games left. TT has OSU and UT and at Ames which although they aren't a good team is always a tough place to play. OSU has TT, KSU, and at NU which can be tough as well. I don't see any of them catching us in the standings, and one of them will lose to the other. If KSU takes care of business at OSU, it's a done deal. Even if not, OSU will not pass us in the standings, and will more than likely finish 2 games behind us. We'll see, but I guarantee that the big 12 gets 4 teams maybe 5 into the tourney, and I think KSU, by finishing 4th will get one of the spots. Just a hunch, but we'll see what happens.

  5. Go Texas! Sorry, but I'll have to root against Tech and Okie Light from now on... May a longhorn find it's way into you backyard! Just for that you will finish 5th in the Big 12. Haha! KIL, you know I've never rooted against you guys, but I have to right now. We need to stay 4th in the conference, and really can do it ourselves by beating OU, CU, and OSU. A little help is always nice though.
  6. Go Texas! Sorry, but I'll have to root against Tech and Okie Light from now on...
  7. That's one guy... I don't see how we will be left out with a 4th place finish in the Big 12. Only one Big 12 team has ever been left out with 10 wins, and that was colorado, but they only won 18 games that year. If we win 2 more, we'll have 10 wins and 21 on the season. Win a game in the Big 12 tourney, and that puts us at 11 wins in the conference and 22 wins overall. No way we'd be left out.
  8. Win 2 of the final 3 and one win in the Big 12 Tourney we're in, no doubt. 2-3 gets us fourth in the Big 12 and a Big 12 first round bye. I'm not sure I'd say no doubt. That still leaves nothing but wins over other bubble teams and losses to 4 teams who are no doubt not tourney teams. The loss to Nebraska may come back and bite K-State in the you-know-where. That was the game K-State should've won. I don't disagree, but I'd think a win at Stillwater would do it. I think we're good enough to win there.
  9. Win 2 of the final 3 and one win in the Big 12 Tourney we're in, no doubt. 2-3 gets us fourth in the Big 12 and a Big 12 first round bye.
  10. USC blew a 9-point second half lead against ASU and lost, dropping USC to third in the Pac-10 and giving the Sun Devils their first conference victory of the season. That loss sucks. USC dropped to 60 in the RPI, there goes a quality win for KSU.
  11. Nice win for the Cats today. 8-4 in the Big 12, up by 2 games on 5th place with 4 games to go. Win the one's we're supposed to win, and I'm thinking we're a lock for the tourney.
  12. Juan, Matt informed me he accidentally dropped Jeter, and asks that you add him back to his roster as his mulligan.
  13. Go Mizzou! Beat kU! Seconded!
  14. Matt ensured me that he'll make his cuts on time. I just reminded him again.
  15. Huggins has only had the chance to recruit, what, 2 or 3 players so far, and one of them has already gotten ejected for straight up throwing a haymaker to the back of someone's head(and he also almost obliterated a chair when they came to Columbia). Huggins's past speaks for itself, he recruits thug athletes and if he makes the tournament he underperforms his seed. The main thing is he recruited those kids without any rules governing him either as he wasn't employed. You think he walked the straight line with Walker when no one was in charge of him? Who cares what he did, there were no rules against it. He was unemployed... he could go watch any players he wanted, and get them on his side. I for one love the tactic. Yes maybe because we landed Walker, so I'm biased, but who cares. :)
  16. I'd like to say that I completely approve of all of that. I'd like to say it's totally classless... so is hiring a lowlife like thuggins to lead a basketball program. When you hire someone like him, people are going to make jokes about it. LMAO! Like he's any more of a low life than half of the coaches out there. Give me a break. So, the guy got a DUI? So did I years ago, but does that make me a lowlife? It's all preception What's really funny is how you make such excuses for him, put your head in the sand and act like he's no different than anyone else. You're too much. When he was hired you had to ask us on this board about his past becuase you didn't know. But you're right. The whole basketball world is wrong but you K-State fans defending Huggins' character are right. Brilliant! If you weren't such an over-the-top apologist and homer, I doubt people would say as much. But you refuse to admit that the man is slimier than the majority of coaches out there. You refused to admit there was anything wrong with his recruiting of certain players and refused to admit that O.J. Mayo had any character problems until it was clear he wasn't heading to KSU. How convenient. Homer- No... He's just done nothing yet to make me think he's "slimy" I love all the negativity toward him though, the majority of which I think comes from him winning games. I could provide quite a few examples of other coaches who have done the same sorts of things as huggins in their past, and when I get a chance to do so today, I'll provide examples. It doesn't bother me at all that people don't like him, I couldn't care less. The classless thing though was the KU newspaper, and that was my point.

So did I years ago, but does that make me a lowlife? It's all preception, but it's very classless of a university newspaper to print something like that. KU cheats and is sanctioned by the NCAA for it, but Huggins is a lowlife... hahahaha! Pot- Kettle!
  18. I'd like to say that I completely approve of all of that. I'd like to say it's totally classless... You're just pissed cuz Mizzou sucks, and lost twice to us this year. Well, get use to it. It won't change next year. We played the worst game we've played all year, but KU was really good. Can't take anything from them, although it was horrid to watch.
  19. you beat texas at texas. and you beat us at lawrence last year. I'm worried about the game. I can't wait. I think it'll be a good one. We'll have to continue to play good D if we want to have a shot. Our offense is too unpredictable to guarantee a good performance. I think if we make it ugly, we win.
  20. Wouldn't it be funny if we beat KU on Wednesday and end up ranked. I'm not counting on it, but it'd be nice. UT/aTm will be fun to watch tonight. Hook em'!
  21. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! That a boy Huggy! YES!!!!!! 73-72 We'd have lost this game last year by 2!
  22. Lets go Cats... Beat UT and make it 6 straight in the conference. Doubtful, but one can hope!

My Lineup is set. I kept Kubel instead of Lidge, and updated above. That's the only difference for me.
  24. I'm not sure Durant might not pass up Oden. You may have to "settle" for Oden at #2. Durant is just a freak. Tough call but I think the 2 teams that get either one of these guys are going to be pleased. Durant has to POY at this point. Granted TT didn't have any one that could match up with him last night but I don't think there are too many teams that do. The Big 12 is going to be a tough out in the big dance. I just hope the Cats can somehow pull off 11 wins in the Big 12. That'd get us in. I think if we can either beat UT this weekend or KU next week, we get to the 11 win mark.
  25. KSU isn't the biggest team in the conference. Hell, 1/2 the game we were playing where Martin at 6'7" was our biggest guy on the floor. That's where the other two things I mentioned come into play. I don't think it's being thrashed... I didn't think it was a poorly called game at all tonight, unlike the first game. I think it's definitely lack of positioning, and lack of effort. The rebound margins have been ridiculous the 2 games. I don't know the numbers, but I'd guess like 90-40 or something. Close, 79-33. Jesus.. that sucks for you guys. Well.. good luck the rest of the way. That KU game in a week and a half or so will be a big one for you guys. Our schedule gets really tough for the next two games. We HAVE to contain Durant to have any chance on Sat. The dude is a maniac.
