Corey only played 11 games that year, so he didn't have a regular number. Not sure if he had any others.

Come to think of it, my brother and went to the local ticketmaster outlet after school and got tickets. Pretty decent seats, although the guy in front of us couldn't exactly hold his beer down. I'll leave it at that.

I was there too... most electric game I had been at until Game 2 NLCS last year. What an amazing feeling that game was, I was for sure they were going to pull it off after that. It was crazy. I just wish I could have stayed the whole game, but I was with my younger brother and it was a school night.

Looks like I beat everyone to this question. Why on earth would Dusty send Zambrano back to the mound in the 8th inning with a wet infield and a 9-1 lead after already throwing 96 pitches? Is there any way to justify this? I don't mean to seem picky (especially right after a nice and easy "W"), but with 7 guys in the bullpen, I just don't see any reason to keep him in the game.

Assuming Prior comes back before mid-June and Angel Guzman continues to progress well, will the Cubs try to squeeze in a few starts for him and possibly setup a midseason trade involving Clement? Or do you get the sense that Hendry will be hesitant to mess around with the starting rotation and we might have to wait until September to see Guzman if there are no injuries? Would Dempster be the first one to turn to if Mitre starts to struggle down the road, assuming they don't trade Sergio? Thanks for your time.

Hoops, their excitement over the convention was one of the reasons I wanted to go to that session. I sat more towards the back, so I wasn't able to see their faces too well, but they all seem pumped about being with the Cubs and being in that hotel. By the way, did anyone else see the Santo film?

He definitely stressed that he'd like to start as many games behind the plate as humanly possible and really has no interest in playing elsewhere, although it sounded like he'd certainly be willing to in an emergency backup-type situation. I was looking for you, as well, but no luck. My schedule was nowhere close to what I had planned out. Guess I should have known better after last year. Now if I could only find a way to make my way down to Mesa... As for the passes, I wonder if they'll try to find a way to prevent resale on the secondary market (such as only being able to pick up the passes at the hotel by providing the actual credit card used), but that would probably be pretty complicated and incredibly time consuming. I'm not sure if that would make a big impact, as well.

New format for the sale of Cubs Convention passes? I don't like the sound of that. Forgive me if this was already posted (I looked and didn't see it), but I just listened to the Meet Cubs Management session and thought it was worth noting that Dusty said that the reason he didn't go out to Prior after the Barman incident was not only that he didn't want to break up any rythm but that nobody in the dugout could see what happened and they didn't know about it until someone went into the clubhouse to check the replay on TV. Assuming that it's correct, I'd say that it's a pretty understandable reason.

Thanks for the great recaps so far, guys. Once again, my schedule didn't quite work out how I had hoped, but had a great time nonetheless. The only session I was able to attend was with the new Cubs, although you didn't miss much. Most of the questions were rather repetitive and lacked substance so I only stayed for the first 30 minutes. It was nice to see Hawkins, Lee, Hollandsworth, Barrett, and Walker, even though I saw them (minus Hawkins) on SportsCentral Friday night. There were a few things that prevented me from doing more. One, my dad and I really wanted to meet Santo so we went to his line (he was signing third in that line) when the doors open just to take a look at the situation. Well, it was chaos in that line and it's a darn good thing we got there right away. Actually, we would have been about 5 people short when Santo's time expired, but he decided to stay for an additional 5 minutes. Not only that, but Patterson, who was after Santo, joined him and we got both of their autographs (although I got Patterson's autograph last year in a similar situation when I was a bit short of getting Prior's autograph). In addition, my younger brother and my dad switched around noon and it took a while for us to get a hold of him and them meet him. It was great to just be there, though. Some nice purchases (spend less money than last year!) but I had to get back because of homework. I did go this afternoon with my dad for the Santo film, though, and I was very pleased. I'd definitely recommend it for those in Chicago and Arizona when it comes out in March. The Grand Ballroom was completely packed and the capacity audience loved it. It can be a bit depressing at moments, especially if you haven't heard some of the stories multiple times, but as with Santo's public life, he'll always make you laugh right afterwards.

I can't say much right now, as I don't have the time, but I will say that things started off well. What really struck me was how positive everyone was regarding how the season ended. It seemed like a lot of people accepted what happened in the NLCS (as as evident during the interviews of Lee and Hollandsworth during Sports Central, which, by the way, was very enjoyable) and everyone is looking forward, not backwards. I was able to get Borowski's autograph in the autograph scavenger hunt game, even though I got in his line about 20 minutes after it started. I congratulated him on his new deal and am glad to have met him. He seemed a little tired, but I think his wife was with him and it's probably a great time for him and his family. In addition, despite not having much of a voice, Santo looked great. I can't wait to meet him and get his autograph tomorrow morning. I'll try to post more tomorrow night, but if not, then Sunday night and Monday.

A much deserved honor, Hoops. And once again, thanks to Tim, Mark, and everyone else who helps to keep this place running smoothly. I don't know what I'd do without it. By the way, Hoops, you could probably get close to $150 for that pass on eBay. Just a suggestion. :wink:
