  1. I'd also like to say that I have no idea why Dusty is benching Corey for a couple of days after several games of looking much better at the plate. I love the logic.
  2. Dusty was worried about protection for Ramirez and yet he leaves him in the 5th spot with Hollandsworth and Perez behind him? No reason for the order not to be Hairston, Walker, Lee, Ramirez, Burnitz, Barrett, Hollandsworth, and Perez.
  3. I doubt either Hendry or Dusty make decisions without at the minimum the other's input.
  4. Eh. Go see if Gagne needs his dry cleaning to be picked up. Good summary.
  5. I just saw this on the news and I believe the actual question was something like "How long until you have a permanent leadoff hitter." Corey wasn't mentioned.
  6. pretty nice start? how about an awesome start  Murton had a pretty awesome night by himself. He was 4 for 4 with a double (17), HR (7), RBI (41), SB (17), HBP, and 4 runs scored. Oh, and Ryu's final line: 7.2 IP, 5 hits, 0 runs, 3 walks, 5 strikeouts 11-0 the final.
  7. Pretty nice start for the Jaxx. Ryu with 6 innings of 2-hit, shutout ball, Murton is 3-3 with a double, and Greenberg is 2-4 with his 4th bomb of the year. 8-0.
  8. For the past 4 or 5 games, he has. The problem is that most of them are on the first pitch, so he's either getting it off the end of the bat or getting jammed b/c he loves to swing a pitcher's pitches.
  9. It hasn't been the same problem, though. There were a few weeks in there when his command of the zone was good and he was putting the ball in play, but they were mostly weak groundouts. I still think Corey's getting closer to coming out of it. If he could get a fair strike zone and didn't have to consistently swing at pitches outside of the zone, that would go a long way. And if he can change his swing so he can keep his bat more level while going through the strike zone, that would also help a lot. I don't trade him. His trade value is too low right now. I'd move him to the 7th spot, but not trade him.
  10. Like he did in the previous AB only to get booed after being called out on strikes on a 3-2 pitch that was outside? Booing in this situation is kinda like putting on a dress and running into a brick wall at full speed to get rid of a headache. Sure you have the right to do it, but is it really going to help?
  11. Because one is 5'7" and the other 6'6"? It's their fault they're not 6'! Well Lee's is understandable, but Corey's height shouldn't have an impact on the inside corner. All a pitcher has to do to get an easy strike three called on Patterson is throw a bad 2-seam fastball 2 inchches inside. Who knows what effect it has on Corey when he has a good grasp of the strike zone and earns a walk and yet isn't rewarded.
  12. Strike 1 inside, strike 3 outside. It's hard to understand why the umps seemingly single out Patterson (mostly inside corner) and Lee (low strikes) to give the worst strike zones to on this team.
  13. My goodness this guy is good. But did they really give him a triple on the last one? I'd be surprised if that wasn't changed to a double and E8. It looked like it was clearly bobbled at the wall.
  14. Armas hasn't had to throw very many pitches in or near the zone late in counts so far.
  15. I think it's time to stop throwing Guillen pitches down the middle and belt high.
  16. That's a shame. Hopefully it won't be any longer than that.
  17. That's what happens to fastballs left up against him. Right down the middle and belt high. Just a bad pitch.
  18. Judging by the last shot of the flags, the wind looks to be blowing straight in stronger than the expected 5-10 mph wind. Absolutely beautiful outside, though. About 69 degrees at gametime with sunny skies.
  19. Only the Monday and Tuesday games are in Geneva, actually. The Wednesday and Thursday games are down in Peoria. Can't wait for Monday. The only downside is that it'll be hot and I'll be outside from 4:00 until the completion of the 6:00 game.
  20. Very uncalled for, yes. Just what are you talking about? Unless it's some popular quote, that's definitely out of line.
  21. Bad pitching with 2 outs really killed us in this game.
  22. You've got to be kidding me! That's low, Welke. LOW! Terrible call.
  23. Yeesh. Mikey takes a 3-2 fastball right over the plate.
  24. He pitched in the previous three ballgames.
  25. Ohman has such a great slider to throw against lefties.
