    Which brings me to another question....if a player is traded to another team midseason (like a rent-a-player), does that player usually just stay at a hotel for the rest of the season? Man, that would suck.

    Brewers are 22-23 so far this season against teams they still have to play. Cubs are 24-28.

    Brenneman hates the Cubs. When the Reds got their last walkoff win against the Cubs, the Cubs fans were more vocal the entire game than the home Reds fans. You could practically hear the delight in Brenneman's voice when the Reds won to shut up those Cubs fans.

    I'm at the point where I'm wondering what kind of voodoo LaRussa will have to pull to keep them in it. I'm not sure about the Cubs, but I definitely don't see the Brewers playing 4 games worse than the Cards from here on out. And if it's a tie, the game goes to Miller Park where I'm pretty sure the Crew would pound the Cards into the sand. I'm hoping the Cubs just outpace both of 'em of course. I don't know what kind of Black Magic is necessary to keep them in it, that's a terrible team I saw play the Cubs. A team with a bunch of poor to barely average relief and starting pitchers and exactly one hitter. Like I said, other teams besides the Cubs just don't seem to realize the Cards are terrible. At least now that they've lost 4 straight teams are starting to come around.

    When a game is PPD before reaching the 5-inning mark, the whole game is scrapped and started from scratch at a later date. A game is only resumed in progress if it was suspended, not postponed. Why wasn't this game suspended? Because it wasn't yet an official game. Wouldn't a game just be called if it was an official game?

    Didn't read the entire game thread, so I'm not sure if this has been answered: Why didn't Zambrano's 3 innings of scoreless ball count when we played the postponed game today?

    My main problem with a playoff system is that it would mean the end of the tradition of bowl games. No more Rose Bowls, no more Orange Bowls, no more Cotton Bowls. It's a shame because I also think a playoff championship format would also be the most exciting event in sports.

    If Zambrano would have stayed in, I'm pretty sure he would have given up at least 2 runs....it felt too much like his last start. Pulling him and putting in Marmol was the correct move (albeit by only 5 feet). Let Z get his win, restore some of his confidence, and keep the division lead. Absolutely the right move.
