Soriano isn't our best player. If he is hurt we can still win without him. This team has good depth. Yes, I realize he isn't our best player. I didn't say he was. He's still a huge factor in this team's success. Instead of Soriano every day it's probably going to be Hoffpauir or Fontenot at 2nd and DeRosa in left. I like Hoff as much as the next guy, but his production is nowhere near Soriano's. Losing Soriano for an extended period of time (more than a month) will wear on this team's production. Keep in mind the loss in production is tempered somewhat by now having a true leadoff hitter.

there is no value on Cardinal players. Someone will envitably feel their shoes and perhaps be better and the players suck if they leave for a different team Except Eckstein, he's pretty much sucked the entire time Except for, you know, the World Series. -

What was up with Manny Acta and Elijah Dukes? Dukes hit a double and then Milledge hits a go-ahead homer with 2 outs in the top of the 9th. In between innings, Acta goes over to Dukes and just starts yelling at him (looks like something about 2 outs). Dukes yells back and they get into a heated argument. The Nationals go on to win the game and Dukes hi-fives everybody except Acta. -

Imagine if we were in last place instead of having the best record in baseball. Some people will bitch about the stupidest stuff no matter what. My favorite is the freaking out about Kerry Wood coming in to save a 1 run lead. You'd think he was awful. Yeah, a 3 run lead turns into a 1 run lead. What fan would care about that? Had nothing to do with Wood's level of talent. *shrug* I was never worried. I would've been pissed had they actually blown the lead, but we pretty much have the best team in baseball. What's to get so stressed about? :) I do remember getting extremely pissed when the 95-96 Bulls would lose, but those were extremely rare and I was 12. Man, you have no idea how a Bulls loss back in those days just completely ruined it.

Sounds like he had a couple of hard hit shots that were unfortunately caught besides the homer. Is this the case? Yes, 3 line outs and a homer.

Man, I don't want to win the division like this. I want to beat the Cards straight up, because they should not be that good. Remember the Cubs in 2004 and 2005?
