  1. I would if he wasn't that good. He's more like a wasp. People like Eckstein are knats. not trying to nit-pick or look like an idiot i thought it was spelled g-n-a-t Duly noted.
  2. Anybody else find Evan Longoria to be an annoying little knat?
  3. Damn, I was hoping the Cubs come in and show the Rays what's up. Guess the opposite is gonna happen now.
  4. FUKUDOME! On the other hand, I'm getting really annoyed at Cub fans who think that Fukudome being Japanese is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
  5. Why would it be a good thing for it to be between the 3B and pitcher? It's not going to get past them, and it makes a shorter throw for the 3B with more momentum to the base. Also, like has been mentioned, barehanding a slow roller and throwing to first from 3B is pretty easy, especially for a professional baseball player. It looks cool(and it's tons of fun to do), but it's not very difficult. Apparently it is pretty difficult because he made a horrible throw. There were lots of places he could have messed up that play. He could have missed the barehand, he could have launched an awful throw, the first baseman could have bobbled the ball (very likely considering the long hop and the direction that ball took after hitting the ground). I would take my chances with that bunt over his .292 OBP against righties any day. It was the no. 3 web gem of the day on Baseball Tonight. Routine plays do not get web gems.
  6. Let's see a pic of the girl you're sleeping with every night.
  7. Yes .. I believe the Yankees did it for some odd reason. I think Jeter was the DH and he later went to play the field, and the pitcher had an AB. EDIT: n/m, I guess the pitcher never did get an AB: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BOS/BOS200608210.shtml
  8. I see this as an excuse for more people to see that ridiculously hilarious Eckstein crawl.
  9. Good for Boston. That city hasn't won anything for awhile.
  10. Wow, that's exactly what the Cardinals do. except, he would continue his tear No, I meant Cardinals sign mediocre players and they go on a tear. Then they leave via free agency and do nothing else.
  11. If Soriano comes back and his wrist is still nagging him, it's gonna be ugly.
  12. You wouldn't play baseball for $1.5m? Ok, allow me to rephrase. Why do teams pay him to pitch when he clearly doesn't have it anymore?
  13. As soon as i saw Longoria throw that ball while falling, I thought he had no chance of getting Reed. Urgh ... but that's what good teams do.
  14. Rays just made the top 2 web gems of the day in that 9th inning.
  15. ARGH!!! I KNEW REED WOULD DO THAT!
  16. I do NOT trust Reed Johnson here.
  17. Kosuke, remember opening day? Do that.
  18. pull a comb through your coal black hair
  19. 3 flukey hits and we drive Scott Kazmir out of the game after pitching only 4 2/3 of an inning. Hahahahahaha.
  20. I'm loving this AB regardless of the outcome.
