  1. LOL, we have to win today for fear of the McLouth factor tomorrow.
  2. Fuk played pretty good out there Tuesday night (6/2)
  3. He had Tuesday's win in the bag. Signed, sealed and delivered. Thanks, bullpen!
  4. Kind of indicative of what seems to be the 2009 mantra of late .... "WHO CARES?"
  5. eyre is/was bad. His World Series ring is in his ear so he can't hear you...I'd take this: http://search.espn.go.com/scott-eyre/ LOL, don't the Eyre thing just figure?
  6. He's a total joke, and in the same division with one Mr. Trevor Hoffman, we're SCREWED.
  7. There is absolutely NO WAY, ever, EVER that a team should lose a game like this. NO WAY. Total momentum killer for the road trip, and yeah, the last road trip was so freakin' fantastic. This team is terrible.
  8. Tough play. He would have thrown it away anyway.
  9. Gregg That is gonna kill us this season.
  10. Oh, I see our fantastic CLOSER was at it again.
  11. Hey, I had to step out in the bottom of the 9th. Who gave up the runs to tie it in the 9th? I knew it wasn't good when I turned the radio on and the game was still on.
  12. LOL, they're afraid they won't get on against Wells
  13. No doubt about it. Time for "what could have been" for Milton Bradley. This gets old.
  14. I am so sick of these big money guys always getting hurt on the dumbest stuff. Hello DL!
  15. I've been wondering about that, too.
  16. You don't like Chris Robinson hitting about .380 at Iowa? I do, but I'm skeptical that he's going to keep that up, given that his BABIP is insanely high and that he rarely walks. I've got him neck and neck with Clevenger as the top catching prospect in the system, but I don't think he's ready. I don't believe he can maintain that .384 .400 .528 line either. Though right now he's probably better defensively than fatsoto. At this point I still have faith in Geo, but it's slipping. I am starting to get more the feeling that this year will be a disaster for him, and that he will see the light and right the ship in the offseason (figure out the issues, lose some weight, etc) and come back better than ever next year. Not a very hopeful scenario, but it is what it is at this point.
  17. Amen to that. I see articles about other teams and their injuries, but I can't believe any team has been affected the way the Cubs have been. Right now Soriano is slumping because he's trying to play through an injury. You know things have to get better when Theriot, Fukudome, and Hoffpauir have carried the team in the first quarter. That's the scary part, to me, that Theriot, Fukudome and Hoffpauir have carried the team to this point. I'm not saying I mind, believe me, but just think if they hadn't. There would be no telling how far back this team would be. I doubt Lee will come around much more, and I have faith in Soto. BUT, what worries me is Bradley. He said the other day that he's never ever had a start like this... so what does that mean? It means he CAN come out of it and be the player the Cubs need, but even according to him, there's no basis of comparison to feel confident that he will.
  18. I believe Marshall has been above expectations. His ERA is over 4.00, but that's mainly because he's taken out with runners on base that the reliever fails to strand. I have seen numerous times that Marshall pitched a gem, but the RP screws him over. Marshall has actually been one of our best pitchers this year so far. I agree with you on this year. I think my problems with Marshall in the past have been more mental. He has great stuff, it just seems like he's pitching scared sometimes-- but maybe I'm crazy. Yeah, I agree about Marshall. His stuff looks great, but I think he lets the nerves get the best of him.
