Because the ump 90 feet away has a better viewpoint on whether it was a swing or not than the ump 6 feet away. Didn't appear that way there. Ump behind the plate made the right call, guy 90 feet away didn't.

I've never understood how they can rely on an ump that is over 90 feet away when they've got one right there 6 feet away behind the plate that can make the call.

Wow......what's surprising to me (or maybe not) is that neither of these guys even CONSIDERED that there may have been an obstruction call. Neither of them even said that word at any point. I hope they both are forced to listen to their broadcast with supervisors and then listen to Len and Bob's call, where they immediately noted the obstruction before it was even called. -

Bob and Len are doing the CSN broadcast. 5th k for Rich! He's making up for lost time... Ahh....figures. We're in the Iowa Cubs market and our local cable provider doesn't carry CSN. :roll:
