  1. You look like a troll to me and that's not welcome here. make your choice. I'll let you get the last word while I go [permanently] check out other places on the board.
  2. Edmonds is sucking, and Flash Gordon right now is the best reliever on the planet. Things will even out as the season progresses. Edmonds of course is due for a decline he's not the moster he usually is, but expect a 124-130 OPS+. The OBP is 94 points above his BA. The BA and SA will level out and he'll put up decent numbers. Hey, he's leading the club in stolen bases so he definately has something left in the tank.
  3. At 31 and in a new league (which typically is a disadvantage for a hitter), he's not likely to perform to career norms anyway. Last 3 years average of hitting against lefties for Jones is .238 .295 .363 .658. This is not counting 2006. League BA OBP SLG OPS for Wrigley last year: 270 .340 .430 .770. Jone's value while facing lefties would be below replacement player value. I understand why your front office wont platoon him. Its the same thing we have with Encarnacion. His OPS the last three years averaged is 754. The league average for Busch last year was 773 and before that 769. He's basically a below average player, and being a corner OFer makes it worse. We both have some pretty lame options in the outfield that wont be benched or platooned because of politics.
  4. ESPN's standings has Chicago's runs scored at 108, vice 111. You always want to have a positive Run Differential. Right now the stats show that your pitching (on average) will give up more runs than your offense (on average) will score. Obviously a formula like this will equal more L's than W's and it is something that will catch up with your sooner rather than later. (see the Nats last year when they were on top of the NLEast for 2 months or so, but their Run Differential stayed in the negative.) You have D Lee out, Rusch sucks and Wood and Prior are not there so you know your pitching should be better and your hitting should be better. Its only a question of getting your injured players back to swing the run differential.
