  1. i think you gotta try to keep niemi here
  2. That McGrady quote is exactly what you'd want him to say. and i'm not sure that signing him would be all this bad that people seem to think it is. are we missing out on something if we get him and he doesn't perform? even if he makes it a diva fest, what are we losing really? are we a finals team with basketball's version aaron miles instead of tmac? why not add a former superstar with a serious chip on his shoulder and a big thirst for a ring for a minimal amount of salary and see what happens?
  3. i've got this MJ box-set that I throw in a few times a year. i don't go all overboard with the special magazines and all that, but having a sweet video reminder set to suspenseful music is cool every now and again. you probably just don't love sports enough.
  4. So If Jordon in his prime went to play with Isiah, Magic, or Bird you wouldn't have a problem with it? Great players have their own team and identity. It's like Bird joining Magic in their prime. I can't say I would care at all. LeBron's legacy isn't tarnished by Cleveland's inability to put a second star on the team with him. Right. It's tarnished because Lebron had to pair up with another great in their prime to get a ring. What greats do that? Kobe forced Shaq out because he wanted to be in charge of his own team. Create his own legacy. Sorry, if you don't understand that but people and players respect that. Maybe Jordan should've forced Pippen out. Some legacy MJ, not too surprising that Jordan fell on his face in Washington without Pippen at his side. wait, i get the schtick, but are you seriously suggesting that jordan wasn't the same player in washington because pippen wasn't there? obviously, the miami situation really isn't much different than the jordan-pippen-rodman bulls on a hypothetical level. results-wise, we'll just have to see.
  5. i just assume that lebron will eventually be "the man" in miami. i don't necessarily attribute this to wade going down to injury.
  6. Should we reasonably expect Rose's defensive prowess to improve significantly in the coming years? Obviously we all hope Thibodeau will improve the defensive situation, but can any of our players really be shut-down defenders?
  7. I was just checking those pictures out. the one where his little cousin is sitting in the cup is pretty adorable, however, i liked the one where the mayor was eating a sandwich next to the cup. best sandwich ever?
  8. The Heat are going to be awesome to watch, I don't care what anyone says. I'm really excited for this season. Plus no more Vinny Del Negro!
  9. Classy Using your kids for basketball leverage? I know, classy lol what leverage, exactly? Probably to get LeBron to join them in Miami (which probably worked) Wait are you serious? I don't follow how a couple of meetings with the Bulls gives him leverage to convince lebron to take less money and stats in Miami.

  11. so uh, how bout 'melo?
  12. the only player i see taking a discount is wade, and that's a hometown discount of making less than the max he would get in miami. again, i'm a total bulls homer, but i don't see the bulls getting shut out. the cubs fan in me fears the worst in every situation, but the bulls are sitting pretty. they're clearly the best of the bunch who cleared their rosters to prepare for this offseason. a shutout is unlikely.
  13. hypothetically speaking, if he announces on thursday evening, will i be able to wear my james bulls jersey shirt to my cousin's wedding outside of cleveland on saturday?
  14. i don't get why cleveland being confident is a sign that they will get him back? that doesn't really make any sense, unless they know something we don't. in which case, why wouldn't james just get this over with?
  15. What a crazy off-season. WE'RE GETTING JAMES!
  16. see ryan, i wasn't totally off on my line of reasoning
  17. there was definitely someone filming wade from the inside of his suv when he visited the uc yesterday
  18. i think they're actually just having fun with all of this, knowing the media and the fans are hanging on every shred of relative nothingness. more power to them, this is an unprecedented event, might as well have fun with it.
  19. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/more/specials/fortunate50/ out of the top-10, arod is 7 and jeter is 10. kind of an old list though.
  20. this is just a cartoon at this point.
  21. That's exactly my point. After this supposed super-deal, they'd have like six players and no money. Isn't this likely to be the case with any team bringing in 2 max (or near-max) FAs? to varying degrees, sure. i'm a total bulls homer so i'm just going to assume beyond reason that they are the obvious best choice for lebron. i don't care what you say. i'm actually really looking forward to this being resolved, regardless of what happens. all this speculation upon speculation is kind of embarassing.
  22. That's exactly my point. After this supposed super-deal, they'd have like six players and no money.
  23. i went on a little spending spree after they trounced the sharks in their house back at the beginning of the circus trip, and all that stuff arrived at the same time. but like you guys, the stuff i ordered (championship shirts in every color and style imaginable) has arrived individually. has anyone ever purchased one of those championship dvd's before? i haven't pulled the trigger yet because i'm not sure how comprehensive they are. if it's an hour-long nfl-films style recap i'd rather spend my money on something else, like one of those chinese knock-off jerseys. or four.
  24. lol, i'm not at all pissed off. i just think it's really silly to be all like "he's a douchebag" so earnestly considering the circumstances. it's even sillier that you're taking this so personally. and if you don't see the irony in calling someone a douchebag based on evidence gleaned from a loser with a camera who, for a living, ambushes people with more than 4 seconds of notariety to riddle them with inappropriate and moronic questions, then well, yes, i'll just let you believe that i'm calling you a douchebag.
