    Bucs play at home this week so it will probably be blacked out. Then again, the Bears are on at 4:15 so they might be on no matter what Yeah, I think only the Bucs game would be blacked out. Not all NFL games.

    Sveum is interviewing today. Maddux sometime this week. Martinez is mentioned as a candidate in some articles, but that seems to be more reporters "suggesting" it. No specifics ever mentioned.

    Well they don't have to calculate the stats or anything, but they still have to be able to value them correctly. To know which stats are valuable and which aren't, and in which situations that they are the most valuable. Maybe that's what you meant.

    I'm holding out hope for a miracle scenario where Boise State gets in the Championship game, but realistically, I know it's not gonna happen. Georgia going on a run, while OSU and Stanford lose is clearly the best scenario.

    I've been pronouncing it "Muh CAN in" I've been pronouncing it MACK uh nin. However, the impeccable Wikipedia says it should be ma KAN in. I've heard a lot of Chicago media stumble over pronunciation, as well, which seems ridiculous. He's twice been a manager of big league clubs, you would think the guy is well-known enough that sports media should know his name. It's Mc-Cannon. Media still says Urlacher (rhymes with linebacker, not locker) incorrect, and Robbie Gould as well. It doesn't surprise me that they'd mess up a guy that's never been a manager.

    Sullivan burying news again... this time about Wood Yeah, Wood also said in that interview that he won't play for anybody but the Cubs. It's Cubs or retirement.

    [expletive] that, put it in Seligs hands. What kind of agreement can they possibly come to that they couldn't over the past 3 weeks or so? What's the problem waiting another week? Or another month? If it's haggling over a low to mid level prospect...what's the hurry? We got Theo. That's the important part. My guess....the Red Sox know they don't have a lot of precedent to use, so they longer they can keep Selig out of it, the better for them.

    I couldn't even bear to listen to CTL last night after they had Hoyer on. The big media outlets around here are complete neanderthals when it comes to baseball analysis. Bernstein isn't an idiot about baseball. It's so bizarre when he comes up with ridiculous opinions like this. I don't know if it's just them saying outrageous, Bayless-esque, stuff on purpose sometimes, because he sometimes has ridiculously bad opinions out of nowhere. Bernstein is so much better when Boers is on vacation and Holmes is filling in, or Bernstein is by himself.
