  1. Swapping out Miles Austin to put in Jason Witten at the last minute didn't work out. :(
  2. Witten is going to play. Guess I have my flex.
  3. Brad Biggs says the Bears have $4.584 mil in cap space.
  4. Haha...excellent. Dan Bernstein ripping on talk radio callers. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2012/09/05/bernstein-rules-for-idiot-bears-fans/
  5. CNNSI has an article detailing all the networks coverage of the NFL this year. This was a nice tidbit to see...
  6. http://troglopundit.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/fat-packer-fan.jpg
  7. Don Banks has the Bears 16th http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/don_banks/09/05/season-preview-power-rankings/index.html?sct=nfl_t11_a0
  8. Instead of a 3rd WR spot in our league, we use a flex. In our league it's a WR/TE/RB spot. You can use any of those 3 types of players in that spot. There's different variations of what's allowed in that spot. Some leagues will only allow 2 of those 3 positions. Sometimes a 2nd QB is allowed.
  9. http://www.espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/49667/mark-cuban-pipes-up-for-chris-kaman Mark Cuban doesn't like advanced stats.
  10. How is Marvin Lewis among the longest tenured coaches in the NFL?
  11. MJD is gonna be a 3rd down back to start the season because he's not in shape enough to be an every down back. Megatron ftw.
  12. Austin is back at practice and appears reasonably healthy (for him). I would gamble on him this week with no Witten to take targets away. Schefter just retweeted that Witten is volunteering to sign a medical waiver to play tonight. I have him too...hmmm...
  13. Ozzie returned to twitter, and for some reason, really likes periods.
  14. I'm the other way around - I'd much rather look for effective RBs in the mid rounds and get a QB early. It depends on the league of course, but typically you can only play one QB at a time, so RB's and WR's are more important to fill early. (This also depends on scoring, which in my league rewards RB's and WR's for TD's more than QB's.) I got Matt Ryan in round 5 of a 10 team snake draft this year.
  15. John Mullin picks the Bears to win the division: http://www.csnchicago.com/football-chicago-bears/bears-talk/The-Bears-will-win-the-NFC-North-Heres-w?blockID=767837&feedID=10330
  16. Since we were talking about it yesterday, the league says the Bears have $5.9million in cap space. The NFLPA says the Bears have $6.3 million. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/09/04/team-by-team-cap-space-as-of-september-3/ http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/09/05/league-union-have-different-cap-numbers/
  17. Rodgers was probably the only reasonable non-RB option to take with the top pick, but I'd have still gone RB. Effective QB's are too easy to get later down the board, imo. But for a first ever FFB draft, that looks pretty good. Like you said though, RB is gonna be your weak area.
  18. Need to fill a flex spot and I keep waffling. Reasonable options: Cedric Benson Michael Bush Miles Austin Titus Young Also, I have Hakeem Nicks starting. Gambling he'll still be effective this week coming off injury.
  19. Lacanfora confirms through Mckinnie's agent they came to an agreement.
  20. @BryantMckinnie Still tryin 2 work things out, so its not official as of yet.
  21. but enough to sign McKinney while they look for a trading partner for Williams..? I think so, but it'd be tight if you have any injuries where you have to sign any new players. But I'm no cap expert.
  22. Mulley and Hanley asked Biggs this morning about some report that the Bears had around $6mil in space, and Brad says he doesn't believe it's quite that much.
