So Emery could fire Lovie for Lovie not having applied more pressure to Emery to draft an O-lineman? That's....not what I think will happen. Lovie has not done with well with OC hires, I'll give you that. But I'm not ready to write off Tice after 2 games.

Tell me what sweeping changes could occur. Ultimately you have to look at coaching changes and perhaps even cutting Webb. We don't have viable backups but I don't think you can do much worse at LT then Webb. It was reported that management told Emery he has to keep Lovie coming into this year, but if Lovie and the coaches don't get the job done furthering the embarrassment of this team then I think Emery would absolutely make a move. It makes you even wonder about them eventually moving to 3-4 with a new coach considering the decline of Urlacher and the pick of Shea. Serious question. What is Lovie supposed to do about the LT? Chris Williams was worse at it in the preseason than Webb. Emery isn't going to fire Lovie mid season...especially "as soon as week 4". This season is what it is. Whatever "sweeping changes" are necessary won't happen until then.

pretty much exactly how I feel about it. If we trade him now and tank the season, who could we draft at QB to start over? Matt Barkley? How would that occur? Even with Jason Campbell we'd win too many games to get that draft pick.

That sounds like a bunch of BS to me. That's what you get for checking out PFT. Apparently it's a popular theme today though. Ted Bruschi apparently said this morning that Jay needs to apologize to Webb and "fix this".

Yeah, just posted that in the other thread. That's BS. They brought in Marshall to please Cutler, and now after a bad game the team is gonna turn on Cutler to defend freaking J'Marcus Webb? Come on.

Most people wanted to let Forte walk? Forte never had the option to walk. He was franchised. I'm glad we have Bush, and he's fine in the running game, but he isn't gonna be the receiver that Forte was.

Looked a lot like the same Bears from last year. I guess the good news is that the defense looked pretty good for the most part. The Briggs dropped pick really hurt, but Urlacher looked pretty good I thought, and the d-line did great getting pressure, especially in the first half. But the offense....

Matthews will be rushing on Webb's side not Carimi's. Wasnt he lolb previous seasons? He's their only pass rusher. I can't imagine he won't be going after Webb.

To me, it just comes down to the Packers looking very single-faceted right now. Strong pass game, weak run game, weak defense with only one real pass rusher, nice returner, but other than that, sketchy ST. The Bears have their issues, no doubt, but seem early on to have a good offense (pass and run), good-ok defense, and the usual good special teams.

I'm wearing a Bears jersey at work today. I work in IT. Only time I ever wore one to work was the Friday before the Super Bowl. I wore my Grossman jersey. :blush: I usually wear mine on Fridays during the season, but obviously this week had to be different.
