    Just because something has always been done a certain way doesn't make it the best way. Obviously, but just because something is a change doesn't make it the best way either. One of the moves mentioned in the post I was referring to there was the lowering of the mound, which made sense because there were like two .300 hitters the year prior and offense was at crisis point. Not being sufficiently entertained by the 2 PA/game that pitchers take is hardly 'crisis point' to me. Waiting for crisis points to take action is a terrible way to manage anything.

    All sports should progress. Basketball, hockey and football have all added rules, changed rules, adapted rules. Some for the better, some arguably for the worse, but they've all progressed. Baseball is the slowest, and most reluctant to do so, but it too has progressed, and needs to continue to do so. The fact that it's a game doesn't mean that it shouldn't make positive change. Just because something has always been done a certain way doesn't make it the best way.

    Nope. Last year it was STL in the 1st round, and Minny in the 2nd. You are remembering the previous year, as I was.

    I believe it was a relatively close, evenly played series without ever feeling that way. Exactly. The first two games I think the Hawks had leads most of the game it the Wild came back before the Hawks won at the end. The middle 2 games in St Paul were won by the Wild, then the Hawks won a very close game 5, and then game 6 went into OT where Kane won the series with a goal And all of that was with the Wild losing their starting goalie, Backstrom, during warmups of game 1. That was actually 2 years ago I believe Oh... Then I too have no memory of last year's series.

    I'm not gonna root for him to be hurt...but I don't have to root for him to be ok. The Cardinals not being healthy will not affect my enjoyment of the Cubs being successful in any way whatsoever.
