  1. lol, not having seen the game...it seems pretty silly to say that Baez had bad AB's when he's 4 for 4. But more than one of you are saying that...
  2. We've only lost 17 games and it's not even close to the worst game THIS season. Who are you and what have you done with Rondon Fan?
  3. I'm in denial. The Pens aren't winning.
  4. Holy crap. Former Cub Ruben Quevedo died of a heart attack at age 37. http://www.brewcrewball.com/2016/6/8/11882496/former-milwaukee-brewers-pitcher-ruben-quevedo-is-dead-at-age-37
  5. I'm still an extremely dumb soccer fan, but Zardes just bothers me to watch. He always looks like he's playing panicked or something. I have zero confidence in him to make good decisions when he has possession of the ball.
  6. You're not new, and you have a history. A no-hitter is completely different than a shutout, and only everyone that's ever watched baseball should know that. I've seen new posters get slaughtered on here for making points you guys felt were silly. That's not conducive towards increasing forum activity. Ok. The point stands that you are not a new poster, so this is irrelevant to this conversation.
  7. That post epitomizes why this website barely gets any new members. I wasn't trying to troll at all. I sincerely am against working a pitcher hard in order to get a no hitter. We saw back in 2003 how working Prior and Wood hard lead to. But you decided to get nasty with your reply. Way to not start a conversation on a legitimate issue. You're not new, and you have a history. A no-hitter is completely different than a shutout, and only everyone that's ever watched baseball should know that.
  8. I locked the other one.

  10. You don't see how someone that swings at pitches that are out of the zone now won't still do that with a smaller strike zone? ok. Unless you think they are just deciding to swing at everything and their strike recognition ability isn't the real reason and isn't impacted by the size of the zone and borders. This isn't complicated...a smaller strike zone will lead to more walks across the board, and a bigger one would lead to more strikeouts across the board. But that's not what you were saying a minute ago. You were saying it would somehow negate a Cubs advantage, or that somehow it would help others more than us. But if walks increase across the board...for teams that aren't all that patient AND for ones like the Cubs that are, there's no real loss...and if anything, there's a gain from the Cubs being able to now hit more balls in the zone.
  11. There'd be an adjustment period, but free swingers are gonna be free swingers no matter the zone. Teams that have guys that take a lot of pitches and work walks will benefit from this. I don't even begin to see how this is true. Making it easier for everyone to do what we are already probably by far the best at doesn't seem like some automatically beneficial thing at all. You don't see how someone that swings at pitches that are out of the zone now won't still do that with a smaller strike zone? ok.
