You're not helping yourself and your American Idol-watching reputation, Brandon. Haven't watched AI in many years, but fair. I figured my movie watching choices was more of a stigma, honestly.
I wouldn't have gotten the carbon rod thing either, honestly. The SImpsons references usually fly over my head. Only even knew it was a Simpsons reference because I googled it after you guys made a stink.
ROFL...and this Fansided post from yesterday has the list as Bumgarner, Syndergaard and Sherzer....3 guys I didn't even mention.... http://fansided.com/2016/08/23/mlb-awards-watch-wild-jam-packed-race-nl-cy-young/3/
So Jesse Rogers wrote a recap of last night claiming that Arrieta is back in the Cy Young race. Then I checked the ESPN Cy Young predictor...and Jake is ahead by a pretty good amount now... http://www.espn.com/mlb/features/cyyoung So who's really in Cy Young contention here? The predictor doesn't list Hendricks, because I think it's putting a lot of stock in his W-L record. I figure Kershaw could still be in it if he can come back soon and come back strong...but I'm not confident about that. Strasburg's recent struggles and now DL stint are gonna probably knock him out of this. Lester is right there with Jake...and Cueto is probably right there too. Anyone else?
There's a number of articles in the past few days saying what this one does....that Bryant is starting to pull away in the MVP race. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/cubs-slugger-kris-bryant-is-starting-to-pull-away-in-nl-mvp-race/ EDIT: http://www.scout.com/mlb/story/1698545-scout-hot-sheet-kris-bryant http://www.baseballdailydigest.com/kris-bryant-near-the-top-in-race-for-national-league-mvp/
I'm not gonna say that there wasn't some cool moments during the Olympics...obviously there were. But man am I glad that's over with. Going from Rio to Tokyo is gonna be a massive contrast. I expect Tokyo to crush it.
I don't know enough about what defensive metrics are best for checking on this, but even with his error yesterday fresh in my mind, it feels like he's been an extremely good fielding 1B. I'd be interested in someone doing the work for me and telling me what the objective measures show.
