This will be the smallest gap between seasons the Cubs have ever had though...if that helps.

Yeah, too much is being made of it. Plus I don't think we've ever seen Chapman' be bad as a result of too much work...I think his poor outings have been after extended rest/disuse, actually. That said, tonight should be the biggest game of "screw the closer" the Cubs have ever played.

i am so unbelievably nervous that there's some part of me that wishes i could not watch the game or something. like my body is physically wanting to reject watching the game. Yeah, I don't usually get nervous till pregame, but my heart is gonna beat out of my chest today.

Edwards only got one out the other night and there's been a day off in between. He'll be fine to pitch tonight. Think he meant game 7. Well they aren't gonna "save" Edwards tonight for a game that might not happen tomorrow. EDIT: I missed the "or tomorrow" part of his post.

I guess this is what I was trying to say, poorly. We have enough in the bullpen to confidently get through 2 games if the starters do what we know they can do.

I keep seeing things talking about the Cubs bullpen needing to step up, but I really don't feel like the bullpen has really been a problem. They've given up some runs in games that were already losses, but when they've needed to shut things down, they have. I'm much, much more concerned about the offense than the pitching. That shouldn't really make you feel better. It shouldn't make me feel better that the bullpen has been nails when it needs to be?
