  1. I'd need to see it again, but it looked like his knees were down before it came out.
  2. I'm not trying to re-open the debate in any way, but when people were saying that Kyle Orton didn't "lose" games, I think they were indicating that he didn't make any INT's deep in Chicago territory, like Simms just did deep in TB territory. At least I don't remember any. And I realize the game is far far far from over, but it was just my first thought as I saw that play unfold.
  3. John Clayton informs methat the Bears are playing the Redskins this weekend...quick...someone tell the Bears!!! (I know I know...it's only a typo...still funny though :) )
  4. So sad that I know that's from Demolition Man...*sigh*
  5. You may get more than you want. The Bears won in Tampa with Orton at QB. If we play Tampa, it will be in Chicago with Grossman at QB. I like our chances. The only way the Bears scored was b/c Simms fumbled on the 1. Don't kid yourself into thinking the Bears are great. I'm not saying they're great, but I do think they are better than Tampa.
  6. You may get more than you want. The Bears won in Tampa with Orton at QB. If we play Tampa, it will be in Chicago with Grossman at QB. I like our chances. The win was also a win because Bryant shanked a sub-30 yard FG. Chicago's better with Grossman, but they were evenly matched earlier in the season. I conveniently erased that from my memory. :P Nonetheless, Grossman and Home Field advantage still both tilt the game in our favor IMO.

  8. Ahem...it's Jeromy dontcha know? :)
  9. We're just special. No, we just turned off that feature so none of our info shows up. I can see your rank and post count. I can see everyone's rank and post count. I believe that has to do with the mix of Premium vs Non-Premium. Some information is still private though.
  10. Let me answer your second question first: To my knowledge that "tree" view is not one available on the PHPBB format, and if it is, it's not something currently installed here at NSBB. If I'm wrong about that, I'm sure someone will correct me. The reason for the strict enforcement of the thread redundancy is simply that forum is much easier to moderate when all thoughts on a topic are in one place. It also has the additional benefit of providing much cleaner look to the forums. When popular topics arise (The Nomar trade, the Maddux signing, the Sammy trade), threads pop up very quickly, and therefore multiple thread topics can become quite confusing and overwhelming. We are trying to seperate threads that become too long to be manageable by locking the original and starting a new one for ease of viewing, but this is a large community, and sometimes those kinds of large threads are going to occur. Hopefully when Tim is able to find a way to balance the site's performance with a viable search ability, this won't be such a big issue.
  11. If the Cubs wanted Clement, why wouldn't they have just re-signed him when we had the chance? Is Jim feeling nostalgic for the 03 team?
  12. Apparently Turner said that Benson will get some carries....how much is a big question, but that could eat into the number of carries AP gets.
  13. http://football.about.com/cs/nfldraft/a/bl_mockdraft_4.htm I'll take either of em.
  14. Just looking through a couple of mock drafts, it looks like Vernon and Lewis are the two names that have come up, but it seems like everyone's in agreement that TE is the way to go for the Bears in the first round. they say that vernon is a better all-around TE, and more suitable to the bears run-first offense. I guess it depends on what you read because this page thinks he belongs in a passing offense. Granted I'm not too sure about the quality of the source in this case.
  15. So not only does he pick against the Bears for like the 15th time this season, but he has no idea that Minnesota was eliminated from the Playoffs last week???? Is there anywhere you can see how he picked for the whole year? I know he hasn't picked the Bears much, I just wonder exactly how his picks went this year. Not that I see...his overall record for picks this year is 135-103-4 according to this page, but his record on picking Bears games is far worse.

  17. He's a junior...do we know he's going to be in the draft? i assume that if he's projected as a late first-rounder, he'll want to cash in. Fair enough....just didn't know if you'd heard something I hadn't.

  19. Oh I agree...was just having a bit of fun. :)
  20. Or a trade. Angelos has been pretty good with trades. oooh, what about ced benson and our pick to the cardinals for the likely #9. that way we can pick up lewis and forget all about the RB controversy? Bah..think big...let's trade up for Bush!
  21. Maybe I'm a little too obsessed with this Harmon forecast on Sportsline.com, but it really irritates me: So not only does he pick against the Bears for like the 15th time this season, but he has no idea that Minnesota was eliminated from the Playoffs last week????
  22. Yeah Moose, Bradley, Berrian and even Gage is a nice foursome to have in there. Especially if the latter 3 start to blossom. And the better Grossman gets, the better these guys will look too. Even at the Bears "weak" spots (with the exception of TE which you noted above), they have young talent that is hopefully only going to get better. I really think this Bears team is going to only continue to get better. This isn't like '03 where it's a fluke thing...I think this is really the start of a nice run here for the Bears.
