  1. I am unable to choose, as each of these is extremely bothersome.
  2. This has no effect on options. He's already on the 40-man roster (major league contract) and the option for this year was burned when he was sent down. Once the option is used for the year he can be called up and sent back down an unlimited umber of times, and it still counts as one option. Well anybody on the 40 man can be called up in September and I don't think that affects options IIRC.
  3. Piniella is an idiot. Ironic statement. Careful.
  4. This game thread has been postponed to a date yet to be determined.
  5. i am trying really hard to forget that commercial because i actually like dane cook sorry to hear that. i take it you don't like dane cook then? My friends hate him. But I like him. He's crazy. As a comedian though, he should be funny, which he's not.
  6. And he did! :D
  7. Hopefully Fielder will get himself out...doesn't look like Weathers wants to do it for him.
  8. I suspect that Reyes is somewhere between "one bad pitch" and "terrible". I mean it wasn't like we slugged him around.
  9. Rogers' 20-20 hindsight But that article also admits that tons of teams are doing this now...if the Cubs didn't, someone else was going to, and I guarantee the crying from the media about Zambrano leaving and the crap that the Cubs would have had replacing him would be a HUGE amount more than the crying about this deal.
  10. I don't understand this line of thinking, but I'm reading it quite a bit about yesterdays game. The thought is that Reyes threw one bad pitch that ended up costing them the game...the grand slam pitch to Ward. But a run had already scored that inning, and the bases were loaded thanks to some walks and hits. Doesn't that inherently mean that more than one "bad pitch" was thrown?
  11. They sure aren't in the 08 free agent market.
  12. Holy crap...if anyone hears a measurement on that, post it!
  13. I don't normally do this but... Is that the first time Jim hasn't had an appetite for something??
  14. I just turned the game on right before that 2 error play...great time to turn it on. :D
  15. ROFL! 2 Errors! Little league homer!
  16. Sigh....enough of the namecalling people. There's no reason this should need to continue to be repeated so often. Everyone knows the rule. Just follow it.
  17. What? They said he lost a lot of weight and got tired playing catch for 5 minutes. It's colitis.
  18. What just happened there? I can't see it.
  19. Slightly off topic here, but too funny not to mention. As I was googling to find records of various general managers, I came across an article claiming to dicuss the top 5 GM's in the game. And John Schuerholz isn't listed!! http://baseball.suite101.com/article.cfm/top_five_baseball_general_managers
  20. I think re-signing threads are a little slower than new player threads. Not as much information to dicuss other than money, and frankly some people, I think, would rather talk baseball than dollars. And we all know Z and how he plays...nothing new to discuss there. It's good news, but it's not that big of a story. Z constantly saying he was going to remain a Cub made it seem like it was inevitable. There's really not a lot to talk about, in relation to new signings/trades. If it was November and coming up on a deadline like Ramirez, that's different, but it's a mid-year extension. It's actually almost bigger news for the teams that may have been wanting to go after him as a free agent.
